Great place to relax during a long layover in IST

A very lovely boutique hotel about 15 min away from IST airport and 3 min walk from multitude of great little cafes and restaurants. Add clean and spacious rooms, free shuttle back to IST, event at 4:00 AM, coupled with a friendly staff and the Grand Hamit is a great place for a long layover!

Flew in from London around midnight. Hotel is 4 miles from airport which took 20 minutes by taxi ($20). Airport was easy to navigate. The area around the hotel was a little run down, however the hotel was nice. Check-in was easy. Super nice staff. Was only staying one night. Met my daughter the next morning to spend 3 days in Istanbul. The free breakfast in the morning was delicious. Would definitely recommend.

We had a fantastic experience at Grand Hamit. The staff were warm, courteous, and always ready to help. The owner, Frat, was present when we checked in and went out of his way to assist with our airport pick-up. Oza also kindly arranged our cab for the return trip. Our room was very clean, and the bathroom looked newly renovated—modern and spotless. The breakfast spread was satisfying, and the overall ambiance was comfortable and relaxing. Location-wise, the hotel is in a clean, quiet area with a shopping mall and many dining options within walking distance. We felt safe and well taken care of throughout our stay. Highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting the area!

The staff was accommodating as we had an early flight and would miss breakfast. They provided sandwiches and a juice drink to go. The room was well air conditioned. The shower water though didn’t get hot at 3am before we left for our flight. Overall it was a good stay for a overnight layover.

I had an extremely disappointing experience at this hotel. First, there was no hot water available for a shower. Despite the fact that it was a very cold day, the hotel also did not provide any heating. When I raised this issue with the front desk, the staff member simply told me that I was having an "unlucky day," which I found dismissive and unprofessional. Additionally, I booked this hotel through Expedia, specifically selecting it because it listed "Airport shuttle" as one of its included amenities. For convenience, I took a taxi from the airport to the hotel, assuming I could use the shuttle service for my return trip. However, when I asked about the shuttle at check-in, I was told that the room I booked did not include that service. As an Expedia Gold member, I mentioned that I was eligible for a free upgrade—I was not even ask for room upgrade, but simply to include the airport shuttle that was advertised. I showed both the front desk staff and the hotel owner my Expedia booking confirmation, which clearly stated that the shuttle was included. Despite this, they refused to honor the service and told me to contact Expedia directly. I later found several customer reviews reporting similar complaints about the misleading shuttle service, suggesting this is an ongoing issue. To make matters worse, the bedsheets in my room were damp, which was especially uncomfortable given a cold day without hot water. The owner has no respect of woman.

Short and comfortable stay

The room was clean and comfortable. Communication with staff re airport shuttle via WhatsApp was very effective and the instructions very clear. They actually provided a short video of how to find the driver.
