The check-in desk was staffed and the girl gave us good advice of using the nearby cathedral carpark for 5 pounds a day which was very affordable considering the location! View overlooked the River Ness. Window opened to allow a cool breeze. Mattress seemed to be very worn, a little broken-down, but we were able to sleep moderately comfortably. There was a bathtub and nice hot shower. However the cleanliness of the bathroom could have been better (there was some visible mold and the bathroom baseboards needed wiping down.) we enjoyed the full breakfast every morning, one of the nicer breakfasts we had during our 2-week stay in Scotland. There was shopping and food in every direction just outside the door. We took 2 tours that left from Inverness and both met in locations that were walkable from the hotel. We loved the local Fat Buddha fish & chips carry-out!

Rooms were clean and night staff were awesome. Breakfast staff had to be asked to refill the water jugs and sugar. They didn’t seem to pay attention to keeping everything stocked. Also the front door of the hotel was often left open allowing cigarette smoke to waft up through the main areas / staircase. Overall was an ok place to stay but I wouldn’t return.

Wifi didn't work, when you could hook up to it. TV didnt work at all, and streaming was impossible with the bad wifi. Vaulted ceilings were cool, but all the cobwebs floating up there were not. Linens were fine and clean. Bed wasn't the worst, but not the best either. This is basically just a very old hotel, that doesnt seem like its been maintained that well. It's a noisy, and hasn't been updated recently, and it shows. It's a good place if there are no other options though, or the proce is right. The location is amazing and can make up for a lot for some people.

Bed sheets were clean, but the hotel was dated and rooms were not super clean. Horel needs some up keep. We had a river view room which was nice to look at, but could hear everything outside - even people’s footsteps on the sidewalk below. Could also hear a banging noise everytime doors were opened (not sure if it was the front door). The breakfast was great, and front desk staff helpful.

Excellent stay - our only major concern was that they have you write your CC details including CVV and Exp on a paper form when checking in.They kept this in a pile by the computer at an unmanned front desk after 10 PM This is a major security issue so we unfortunately had to scramble some numbers on the CC to ensure safety. Otherwise the hotel was great and highly recommend. Great location.

Friendly staff, very clean rooms. Substantial breakfast can be purchased with room. Hotel is dated. Note on tub that it was slippery and needed a bathmat, but there was no mat and no handrail. Rooms at the front, overlooking the river are larger, but are over the bar so there is the thump of music late into the night. Not worth the extra cost. Flat foam pillows, not particularly comfortable.

Love Inverness and this was a great place to stay. All of the staff we interacted with were very helpful. Hotel is in great location. Parking is the only challenge - there aren’t many close options to park your car.

Great location, loved the maze to the room. But the place had stains on a pillow case, the shower curtain and the quilt inserts. Grout on bathroom floor missing in spots, silicone around tub cracked and mold stains. Floors noisy, although that’s also charm of an old building. Overall, has potential to be a great place with some work. Also bed uncomfortable and pillows lumpy and terrible
