Best experience for our first Hawaii trip

It is one of the best locations in west maui specially with family. We needed a kitchen due to out food preferences and we were able to enjoy every moment of our stay. We will go with this again if we visit.

Me and my wife went to this condo at the end of May. The condo was very nice and clean. The only complaint is that it had no A/C and it was always quite warm in the condo even with both doors and fans going.

Beautiful but sleepless

The unit itself is beautiful, clean, and offers a wonderful view and location. We really enjoyed the beach chair amenities as well. The issues apply to sleeping - the bed and pillows are extremely uncomfortable and noisy - past reviews said there was a mattress topper, not the case anymore. Bed was very hard. Also the unit was warm without AC, and if there is not AC, there should be cotton sheets and light cotton blankets, not polyester linens or a heavy (pretty but not practical) polyester comforter. The bedroom also is next to the parking lot, and because the windows needed to be open for air, not only is the bedroom lit up at night from the outside lights (no curtains), but you wake up to anyone coming in the building at all hours of the night. While out of management's control, they were redoing the unit directly below us, so ALL day was sawing or hammering, and this noise was just as apparent at the pool area too - we had to physically leave the premises just to get some peace. Lastly, they give you a ridiculous 10 digit pin that you had to use every time you wanted to open the door to the unit - completely random numbers so if you left your phone inside you wouldn't be able to open the door. Pins should be 4-6 digits, tops.

Beautiful home, lacking comfort

This home is beautiful and has a great view! It was also very nice for the price point. HOWEVER… here are the drawbacks: 1. If you are a light sleeper, I do not recommend this place. Light from the hallway shines right into the bedroom and it is quite noisy. 2. There is no AC… I thought this wouldn’t be a problem but wow, it was so hot at night still and made it difficult to sleep. 3. I would not recommend this place for any more than 2 people even though listing says 4 occupants. 4. If you want a sandy beach, do not book! I knew it wouldn’t be sandy but wished we had booked somewhere on the beach. 5. Neither bed is comfortable to sleep on 6. They only provided 2 rolls of toilet paper for a 1 week stay. Pros: 1. Beautiful place with nice kitchen amenities 2. Close to Ka’anapali 3. Good sea turtle watching 4. Nice view I would not stay here again but I can certainly see this being a good place for those that aren’t light sleepers and can handle a little less comfort.

Beautiful Remodeled Condo

The condo was perfect for our week long stay with everything we needed to make some of our own meals in the kitchen. Some parking lot noise is heard if you go to bed early and keep the windows open due to no AC. There is a nice, big fan plus I had a noise machine and ear plugs packed so that helped me sleep. The pool was lovely and quiet, but I don't think it's heated as it was quite cold. We loved hanging out on the balcony and saw whales on several days of our stay!

The apartment a perfect size for 2 hopeless romantics! From the balcony, we could see the humpback whales breaching in the ocean. It was magical. The place was very clean and functional. Getting in and out was easy. We used the laundry room with no problem and both laundry and trash are just around the corner on the same floor.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is a very nice condo with a great view of the ocean. You need to drive to sandy beaches but the property is right on the water. We came in Feb 2021 and could see whales from the lanai! The full kitchen has pots, pans, plates, silverware for cooking or reheating food. We didn't find any salt or pepper or spices, probably due to Covid. Also note there is no dishwasher. The couch is comfortable and has a fold out bed (but we didn't try it). The bathroom is small but adequate, although they stock it with cheap toilet paper so we bought our own. They also provide little shampoos and soaps.There is a fairly big kitchen counter with a couple wobbly stools. But you've got a great view so you'll want to eat outside anyway. The lanai is quite large and includes a table for 3 for outdoor dining and a lounge chair for, well, lounging. :)Our only real complaint was the comfort and location of the bed. The bed had a foam topper that have been added so it is very soft and the fitted sheet doesn't stay on. The head of the bed is up against the same wall as the outside hallway, and the vents above the bed don't block out sound or light. This means unless you are a very deep sleeper you may hear people coming and going early in the morning and late at night.Overall a good condo in a great location. Just be prepared to wear ear plugs and a mask if you are at all a light sleeper due to the location of the bed and the lack of bedroom curtains.

Mediocre maintenance and unsupportive staff

Rating Details: The property manager was very unhelpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We checked in and discovered that there were no hand soap, shampoo, paper towels, nor toilet paper. When we called staff to assist they told us they would bring it the next morning, but they never showed up the next morning. After calling to follow up in the afternoon, staff told us to go by our own supplies. When we asked to be reimbursed for the supplies, the staff tried to gaslight us and say the supplies were there all along and that what we bought was "extra" and wouldn't be reimbursed. On our last day, we saw two COCKROACHES and we had to chase them around and killed them. Luckily, we weren't charged for the shoe print on the wall. When we told management about it, they basically shrugged and said they couldn't do anything about it. Overall, the property itself was very mediocre compared to other properties we stayed at in the similar price range. Staff will be a big pain to work with should you run into any trouble. The central agency is not local and there is a cumbersome ticketing system before it trickles to the local management. Here is the verbatim quote from the supervisor we spoke with when we expressed our discontent, "It is typical for issues to be addressed within 1-2 days during your stay, but that doesn't mean it will be solved." Apparently *addressing* and *solving* are two different things. I can see the appeal that this property is budget friendly, and I hope if you take the gamble with this unit/company that your experience will be better than ours.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We really liked the condo, it is in a great location and was well cared for. The king sized bed was super comfortable; the fans kept the place nice and cool at night; the fold out bed was perfect for our two small children. As well, the Turnkey team were very responsive - there were a few items missing from the room and when we reached out they responded quickly to provide them. The only piece of critical feedback I would share is that while the unit says sleeps 4 it is really set up for 2 people. There were a limited number of dishes and kitchen supplies which made it a bit of a juggle when making and serving dinner. For example only 4 large plates - when making items like hamburgers or other BBQ items it would have been nice to have 6-8 plates. One for preparing raw burgers and one for serving the cooked burgers/meat and then still having 4 to eat from without having to do dishes before dinner. This was a minor inconvenience and could easily be remedied. This would be less of a problem for 2 people. One other thing I would suggest is to replace the shower head with one that is removable so you can easily spray the sand out of the bottom of the shower. Otherwise the unit was lovely, the pool was great!

Return to Maui

Our unit 210 at the Hale Ono Loa was cozy but comfortable. Beautiful view from the nice lanai, unit was clean, courtyard nice with newly installed BBQs, the bed was comfortable. Quality of the coin operated washer and dryer was good. Would consider staying here again.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Great place to stay overall. Just a few things to be aware of - bedroom has quite a lot of light coming in at night. We were missing our pool key upon arrival. Turn Key responded immediately. However, local folks who were to take care of key replacement never showed to replace it. The floor of the condo left our feet black with dirt after our first walk over it. We would have liked that to be cleaner but the rest of the place was clean and tidy. The view was wonderful and most occupants respected the quiet hours established by the property. With a bit more cleaning, I would highly recommend this place.
