Lack of customer service !!!!!!!!

We had a trip booked to South Africa before all the mess started with the Covid 19 troubles. Due to the obvious crises, our whole trip got cancelled. We managed to get refunds for all of our bookings on this trip, except this establishment. We tried phoning them with no anwers. We even had Hotels.com customer service try and get hold of them. Everytime we ask for a progress report, Hotels.com just come back with the same answer "The only time we got hold of someone, it was to a staff members that said that the manager needs to issue the refund" It has been 4 months dealing with this issue and numerous phonecalls that never get answered, i am sorry if an establishment can not find the time to get back to you on a refund request,q I personally would not even want to use their services in the future. Its such a shame some establishments lack basic customer service.

Comfortable and convenient

We had some difficulty in locating the check in office but once we found that, it was a breeze. Breakfast was a short walk away along the shore. All in all, a very comfortable stay at a convenient location.

Brilliant location at Gallery Studios

Always professionally welcomed and treated with respect by the team from Harbour House hotel group. I previously stayed at Le Paradis apartments managed by the same group. Rooms comfortable, clean and modern.Location perfect as its close to beaches, restaurants and shops.

A disjointed experience

A disjointed experience started with locating the reception to checkin. This was an office on the first floor of the mall where the accommodation is located on third floor accessed by one elevator then round balcony of shopping mall to another elevator accessed only by electronic key to second floor where rooms - ours 5m X 5m approx are located - also one penthouse where most brochure photos were taken giving totally false impression of property to be allocated with a decent sea view. Our room overlooked rooftops & was very noisy outside. The room was not ready upon checkin time. The mattress was thin & horse hair tough & carpet commercial airport style heavy service. There was a small kitchenette where we were able to make a decent capsule coffee. The whole experience was an absolutely minimalistic room experience & the only redeeming factor being I was granted a 50% refund to compensate the quality of the accommodation which brought the Ridiculous cost factor into line with US $125.00 per night paid online for what was obviously the penthouse- which was not available. This was misrepresentation at it’s best & the listing is not honest. All said & done the location is central to all shopping bars & restaurants & once checked in, refunded & familiarized was not too bad. The management absolutely must rectify the listing & charge accordingly for the standard of accommodation offered. I would not stay again under the present circumstances.

The only challenge I had was that maybe I didn’t know how to switch on the hair dryer and iron because they would warm up at all. Switched them on and off Many times To to no win.

Slow check-in, but nice stay

The check-in address wasn't clear and the assistance I received when I had to enquire about it, wasn't efficient. The Hotels.com app indicates that the check-in location differs from the property location and that it is at 81 Marine Drive. When I phoned to check other details, I was told that the check-in address is at the same address as the apartment. When we arrived there, there was no indication of where to find the apartment or check-in location. Phoned again. Reception couldn't advise me. Had to hold. Then referred to Hermanus Harbour Hotel - a different location. Drove there. Then finally referred to correct address and check-in location. When we arrived there, there was no-one at the service centre to check us in. Had to phone yet again and wait for personnel to arrive. Apartment at very good location, neat & spacious.

Amazing property, perfect for a weekend away with all the necessary amenities. Great location as well! Only one small issue was we didn’t have hot water on one of the days. Otherwise will happily go back again!

Great place, check in at 22 Harbour Rd.

These studio apartments are managed by Harbour House Hotel and are located about a block south of Harbour House in the building labeled Village Square. There is a parking space for each apartment in the Village Square parking area. Shops and restaurants just below you, yet quiet and private. Elevator requires key fob, so only guests may go to upper levels. Breakfast each morning is at Harbour House. Just fantastic selection and lovely area to eat in. Great staff throughout! The pool at Village Square is super private, and located on the roof with beautiful views of the ocean. Our suite was very spacious with air conditioning and a deck. My number one choice for a quiet, affordable, relaxing stay!

The location of gallery studios was amazing. We had a huge suite overlooking the beach where we could watch the surfers. The shared deck was spacious with private access to the beach. Overall we would definitely come back, it was just a shame we couldn't stay longer this time.

The location is great, close to restaurants and right in front of the ocean. The room has no view though.. and it is a part of harbor house hotel where you should do the check in- but we didn’t know that so it took us a while to find the place. Staff was helpful and breakfast was nice (eat at the harbor house hotel). Overall it was fine for one night.

Quite excellent hotel. Part of the Harbour House Hotel. We upgraded at little extra cost to a room in the main hotel building. Watched whales from our room balcony! Room was large and very clean. The gigantic bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was good. We ate breakfast able to see the sea where whales were swimming.

Our stay at the gallery studios was wonderful! Our room was perfectly located and was very well kept. The breakfast included was excellent and I think we tried everything on the menu during our 8-night stay. Small kitchen was perfect for keeping drinks and snacks handy. More information about how to check in should be included in the email sent out with the booking confirmation or signage on the door/elevator to the apartments (check-in is at a hotel about 2 blocks away). We were quite confused upon arrival and reviewed the email thoroughly to ensure we were following all directions clearly. Had other guests not let us up into the space, which had a phone to reception, we would have never known how to check in. The Gallery Studios is perfect for couples or 2 people travelling together.
