Willkommen to The Edelweiss, a Belatopia property and charming 3-bedroom, 2-bath chalet tucked away in a quiet gated golf community nestled in the mountains of upstate Georgia – and it’s only a mile and a half from downtown Alpine Helen!

Recently renovated so everything is brand-new, the Edelweiss will charm you just as much as the quaint Bavarian village down the road. Convenient and comfortable, this is your top choice to relax and bask in fresh mountain air, or get out and enjoy all of the experiences Helen has to offer. Either way, at the end of the day, sip local German beer in the hot tub or cozy up to the fire and roast a bratwurst.

KITCHEN AND DINING:

At The Edelweiss, you start with the kitchen and everything you need is here. It’s fully stocked and full of sunshine. The full-service luxury coffee bar means you have everything you need to brew your morning/mid-morning/afternoon cup: French press, drip coffee machine, Keurig pods, a selection of teas and of course, hot chocolate!

You’ll probably need a sweet treat as well so head for Hofer’s Bakery to get your freshly baked apple strudel and linzer cookies - pull up a stool at the island and enjoy!

Later gather your group for a dinner party under the antlers at the lovely dining table that seats 8. If you prefer to take a night off from cooking, try out Spice 55 for fantastic Thai food, yes, Thai food - less than 3 minutes away!

The main floor en-suite bedroom, just off the living room and the laundry, has a king bed and a full bathroom. And it also has a sunrise wall mural so you can start every day with a smile.

Upstairs are two bedrooms, the first is a unique super-sized queen over king bunk bed.

The secret surprise is held closely by Frans and Sissi (the dachsunds on the wall!). Slide the mirror over and reveal the hidden Arcade room! For a blast from the past, try your hand at Ms. Pac-Man or NFL Blitz and let the nostalgia sink in. There are board games, an Infinity Table and a flat screen TV as well. Fun for all ages – as long as you know the password!

The master bedroom across the hall shares the other beautifully updated full bathroom. It has it’s own workspace and an intimate sitting area for two, and there’s also a magical Juliet balcony, perfect for morning coffee, that opens out to a moment of fresh mountain air and a view of the woods!

AROUND TOWN:

When you stay at The Edelweiss, you are planting yourself in Georgia’s very own little German town, Alpine Helen. It’s a small Bavarian-inspired village chock-full of activities, restaurants, and little shops.

Just a short drive or a leisurely stroll will take you downtown (1.5 miles) where you can enjoy a German beer, float the river, or try rolled ice cream (say hi to Charlie, the owner!)

If you plan on visiting in the fall, you must come for Oktoberfest. Or come for the Christmas Market or at New Years for the Edelweiss Drop, where the town lights up.

If you plan on visiting in the summer, hike the Blue Ridge Mountains and then float down the Chattahoochee River. Springtime brings blooming Dogwoods and the Bavarian Fest at the end of May.
