Disliked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, location, listing accuracy
Never got a response from this host-despite repeated messages. Even called VRBO and they would not put me in touch about my questions for the host; just told me that the property was indeed verified, which I learned later, it likely wasn’t. Less than 24 hours before check-in (with 3 kids super excited to go meet up with their granny and reserved ferry travel), the host’s cell number became visible via the app, and I sent a text asking why I hadn’t received check-in info. No reply. Hours later, a very strange message, suggesting they couldn’t log into VRBO app (however, every time a host or guest has activity on the app, it sends an email, so he obviously chose to ignore or glossed over all of the messages that I sent). We were left without accommodation on a long weekend-the night before our trip.From the host’s reply, seems like he posted on multiple rental platforms, then didn’t monitor, and had effectively rented the space to multiple groups. We are super frosted and profoundly disappointed.
