Exceeded expectations!!

My family and I truly enjoyed our stay at your property. From the location to the views, everything exceeded expectations. Walking distance to the beach and extremely quiet neighborhood. My family and I have been coming to San Luis Island for 6 years now each summer, this house is in our top 2. Thank you for the great communication and accommodations we will see you next year!!

House-fished

The house overall was very clean. My concern is the inside wooden stairs. They are put together poorly and are honestly very dangerous. Multiple people tripped on them throughout our stay and hurt themselves. The pictures of the house is different than what it looks like inside. The couches were not the same and were actually broken and uncomfortable to sit on, one of the rooms has a totally different bed and paint color. The other room has a pic of a different bunk bed then what was in there. It was a twin over twin instead of a full over full. The worst part was the septic. The plumbing is so bad that toilet water will randomly bubble and spew out the top of the toilet and get all over the bathroom or the inside of the toilet seat and toilet cover. Making it to where someone constantly had to clean off the toilets. We ran the washing machine daily per the instructions, but the toilet situation never changed. It did have a nice location and was down the street from beach access which was nice! The kitchen was beautiful as well. I would have just liked to know about the plumbing and the dangerous stairs prior to booking because we would have booked elsewhere because we had 3 toddlers with us and keeping them from hurting themselves on the broken stair steps was not ideal for our vacation. I think they should have knocked the price down considering the septic and the stairs and broken furniture. Which is why they may be selling the house.

This was the best VRBO rental we have dealt with. Check in was easy and great! The communication was 100000% wonderdul and the home and location was better than expected! We will make this an annual thing for this home if available!!

Great family vacation!

The house was great, probably one of the best equipped houses we have rented through VBRO - had most everything we needed. The updated kitchen is very nice. The individual air units in the upstairs bedrooms worked well and kept everyone cool. Nice beach area to hang out, you can walk to the beach but you can also drive to the end of the street, there is a parking area which makes it nice for hauling chairs and things. The one thing we didn't realize is that there are zero closets for guests to use, it would be nice to have access to hang your clothes, even if it's a free standing clothes rack. We had a great week.

Perfect getaway

Very short drive (2-3 minutes) from the beach area. House was very clean and very nice. The kitchen was fully stocked as well as plenty of amenities. The only possible issue was if there was a shower going, the toilets sometimes bubbles but they never stopped up or overflowed so it wasn’t a real issue. It was absolutely amazing to sit on the deck and enjoy the breeze off the ocean. The ONLY drawback is that the house is so far away from grocery stores etc so either bring your food etc with you or make one trip...being semi isolated was a perk for me personally so I enjoyed it. Another win was the beach on this island was very much less crowded and FAR cleaner than the public beaches on Galveston Island. I would recommend to friends and family not only this neighborhood but also this specific house. Will stay again!

Close to a private beach.

Honestly the only real downfall of the house is you can smell the septic tank from everywhere outside. Especially on the main deck. Also, come prepared with mosquito repellent otherwise they may fly off with you. Otherwise, the house is absolutely beautiful. It fit my family of 9 perfectly. You’re within walking distance to a private beach with is huge plus since Covid has been shutting public beaches down. Would definitely stay again.

Fun Freeport Home in a quiet neighborhood

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this home. It was big enough for us all and was just a short walk and even shorter ride to the beach. I would suggest if you are there for an extended period of time to rent a golf cart to make things easier but we sat in the bed of the truck to ride to the beach access. This home was beautiful, clean and well decorated. The middle deck was our favorite and we spent most of our time there. The only downfall is that the room with the full bed and only that does not have much privacy. It worked well for our family with toddlers to give us another bed to let them sleep in quietly. It is right off of the room with the queen bed. The other rooms were smaller but they were perfect for our family and the owners make sure that they stay cool with their own personal air conditioning unit that was very nice. The beach was beautiful and clean. Overall, we would stay here again in a heartbeat! Already planning our next trip.

Overall wonderful with one or two caveats

Property is exactly as listed and described in reviews. 5 bedroom, but with one bedroom located through another so no privacy, but worked very well for us with little children. The add-on rooms were hot during the day, but both had individual AC units to run and cooled the rooms nicely if you used them regularly. Kitchen well equipped, we cooked or grilled all our meals. The neighborhood is great with mostly other families, quiet and friendly. Short walk or drive to public beach. We took all our stuff (beach, chairs, etc.) to the beach in the morning and then walked back and forth a lot, no one ever disturbed our things on the beach. A storm rolled in on our last evening there and we lost power for a few hours, but were still able to enjoy our time on the covered porch underneath and grill enjoy the cooler weather. (This is where I say communication from management could have been better because I tried calling and texting to ask about the power and if there were flashlights or candles anywhere and never heard back. Luckily it wasn't an emergency) Our only issue was the plumbing. Whenever water was turned on anywhere in the house, both toilets would bubble up and spray water onto the seats and floor. We learned to keep the lids closed pretty quickly. (Not sure if this is simply something that happens with plumbing in beach houses or not. I don't have any experience in that regard.) The overall cleanliness of the house could have been better. It seemed "surface cleaned" and by that, I mean that when we walked in everything seemed clean but whenever we looked under furniture, moved bean bag chairs or table chairs around to sit, took out seemingly clean dishes, etc. there was always a lot of crumbs, dirt, etc. Washing machine also had wet clothes still in it when we arrived and we rewashed them because they smelled a little off. This could be from the cleaning crew, but also could simply be from the people who rented before us. Lastly, bring a ton of mosquito spray and use it if you are going to be outside around the house. Mosquitos are mostly in the grass so they are very bad at the lowest level of the house. If you stay on the middle or upper deck, it's much better but still need to light the candle provided and wear bug spray to keep them away. Overall I think these are issues anyone should be aware of when renting this property, but would not deter us from renting again. We had a wonderful weekend.

This house was amazing. The location is OK not too far from the beach. My family and I had a Wonderful time. The rooms were OK this house is more like a 4 bed room instead of 5. Overall no complaints

Family Vacation Getaway

I stayed here with my children and my grandchildren and we had a blast! The house was very "homey" and appreciated the extent they went through to decorate. In my eyes, it was the nicest on the block!

My siblings and I felt at home here. We were able to create lasting memories with our children

The house is just as the pictures described. So there wasn't any major disappointments or let downs. The one thing I would point out for any prospects is that one of the bedrooms is located inside of another bedroom, so no separate entrance. But we made it work. The owners literally provided everything needed, just as a hotel would...they were so accommodating that we didn't even need to reach out to them for anything. And there's beach access right across the street. It's so tranquil and private, which I love. And you can view the waves from the deck of the home. Overall, I enjoyed our stay at this home and wouldn't mind going back. Just be prepared for the mosquitoes and the drives to the store/food places.

The house is exactly as shown and described!

We had 4 adults and 4 teens. The house had plenty of space for us to all be together or retreat to our separate areas as needed. Lorie was terrific to work with! When I had a question she was quick to respond. The beaches are quiet and often had less than 10 people on them. It was like we had our own private beach. Would definitely recommend!!

Beautiful

The home was very nicely decorated with a nautical theme and neutral colors.The home was clean,spacious and stocked very well. The beds were comfortable so everyone slept well. The kitchen was a good size for our big family. The owners had every convenience you would need away from home. It actually felt like you were at home. The neighborhood is nice and quiet with easy access to the beach. You can definitely see the water from all windows in the front and sitting on the porch was a welcome delight every morning. The home and community was very family friendly. Our family had a great time and we would love to visit again.

This beach house is above and beyond what we expected. Is not beach front by the beach view is very present at the porch. Very well decorated, clean, and comfortable. Kitchen size was perfect for our family of 11 to prepare all the Christmas weekend meals. Big tv on living room also a plus. Definitely planning to come back during the summer.
