Beautiful and Spacious Beachfront

The home was very clean, spacious and love that it was pet friendly! The host was very attentive and communicative. We all enjoyed the amazing view to the ocean, enjoyed the amenities. We grilled and gathered around the outdoor bonfire area with seating. Loved the beach vibes decor. Each bed had plenty of towels for days! Easy access to the beach - 5minute or less walk. Definitely made it fun to visit the beach at night for a little relaxing moment. Loved that one of the bedrooms also had a baby crib incase it was needed for a family. Drove our Jeep into the public beach area which is also only a few minutes away! The property is in a great location and in a beautiful community. I felt safe. We can’t wait to come back!

in feb got really cold,next to last day inside was 62 outside 50s. It wouldnt get above 68. And no blankets. We were freezing. But great location

Our favorite spot!

This was our 3rd stay! Between our 2nd & 3rd stay the kitchen and bathrooms were upgraded and done beautifully! The house is the perfect size and location is spot on for enjoying coffee in the morning and watching the waves come in and beautiful sunsets in the evening. We can’t wait for our next mini vacation at the beach box!

Great Views

This is a nice property with a fantastic view of the ocean. Sunrises and moonrises were spectacular always with cool ocean breeze. The house was clean and well maintained and supplied. The only drawback was there is no dinning table inside. Thus meals must be eaten on the deck but there is no light on the deck. Thus meals must be consumed in daylight. Bring a lantern.

So many little things to make it less than good but not bad

I had a long review but am limited in how long so I'll be brief. Nice little house in a decent location with a great view and minimal traffic. Check in was fine. Note at checkin asked us to treat the house as we would our own. I wouldn't allow some of the things we found. Sofa cushion on the front porch was waterlogged and moldy from one end to the other. Kitchen had holes in the wall and broken edges on the wall board. Large rusty area on the wall where something had been removed. Plates and bowls on an open shelf that had not been cleaned in weeks to months. Shelf, along with the plates and bowls, were covered in a thick layer of dust and dirt. Razor scraper left on the shelf with the plates. House clearly hadn't had a good cleaning in a long time. Dust and dirt anywhere that wasn't an easy reach. Understood the check out instructions the first time I received them. And the second. And the third. And at 8AM this morning while I was trying to have a cup of coffee. Very worried about getting us out so they could clean. See above re how clean it was. Need a fork? gonna have to open the oven because the drawer butts into it. Kitchen knife? Same thing but with the dishwasher. Everything about this house says "bare minimum." I have rented 5 houses in Galveston and probably 20 at different places nationwide and this is the first time I've felt the need to leave a negative review. Adjust your expectations down.

Very poor condition

Pictures are very outdated. Deck was separated from house and only being held up in places by a PVC pipe. Deck furniture was missing most of the cushions. The ones that were there were nasty and broken down. No outside lights that worked for deck and staircase. No hot water in downstairs bathroom. Kitchen window leaked when it rained. Very disappointed it was not safe for. My grandkids to play on the deck.

Much needed vacation

For us, the property was ideally located and pet-friendly. The inside of the house was very nice and well-appointed. The owner was in email contact with me during our visit, checking in and reminding me of check out time. He also wished us a safe trip home. The owners provided necessities for a comfortable stay. However, the deck was sagging severely, and I was slightly concerned about its safety. During the process of cleaning up for our departure, we discovered the bed was broken when we stripped the sheets.

Ad was not what the property looked like

The deck was collapsing and pulling away from the house, the large outdoor sofa was filthy and stained and half the pillows were missing. There was no kitchen table. It is advertised as sleeping 13, but only had space inside to comfortably seat 6! Windows leaked when it rained. The toilet seat in the downstairs bathroom did not fit the toilet. Pictures of the house that are advertised were taken many years ago. We would not recommend this property.

Great Ocean View

The views are great. The beach a 3 minute walk. Neighborhood is nice. We met so many sweet people. Table on deck great for meals looking at the ocean. Sunrises were epic. Bed was comfy. We arrived after dark. No lights worked on deck. There were Christmas lights strung together on railing. After we found where to plug them with our flashlight it shocked us and lights did not work. Had to get a flashlight to see lock box. We tried opening door and door knob came off in our hand. Our son came from Kemah next day and fixed it so we could use door to deck. Other door wouldn’t open very far due to leveling issues with flooring. Hard to get our stuff in due to no lights on stairs and small door opening. We were offered an extra night and agreed to it. No one ever communicated it wasn’t ours. I had to ask day prior to be sure and was told it wasn’t ours and we needed to be out. Bring a light for deck after dark. Communication was one way. Told us what we needed to do. Never responded to problems. You’ll love the views. They are simply stunning.

Short getaway!

What a darling place! We love it! The color & decorations are so calming. The AC & frig worked wonderfully. The view is AMAZING! Sunrise to sunset was stunning. The neighborhood is very quiet & we had the beach to ourselves! If I had to do it over again, I would’ve ordered the golf cart for my 86 year old mom, but we will next time. The only thing I would’ve liked better was a little bit softer bed. They are all VERY firm but some people may prefer that. I ended up on the sofa which was fine . The check in & out process was simple. We felt so blessed to be able to enjoy this beach house and marvel at the goodness of God!

Roach Motel

Within hours of arrival, giant texas size cockroaches were running around the living room, kitchen and downstairs bathroom. Arrived at 4pm and left the property at 11:30 pm due to the giant bugs crawling and unhygienic conditions. Awaiting refund as this horrendous experience was unlike any normal pest expected in a beach front property.

Amazing place, but....

Good Deck: One of the biggest selling points of this property is its expansive deck, which offers stunning views. We were fortunate enough to watch dolphins in the morning and enjoyed the sunrises every day. Property Location: As mentioned previously, the property boasts an amazing location with no through traffic. It’s just a 5-minute walk from the beach, offering a very private and secluded atmosphere. Bad Cleanliness: The cleaning prior to our arrival was superficial at best. We found ourselves needing to clean the place again to feel comfortable. Roaches: The presence of finger-sized roaches was the biggest disappointment. If the property owners can address the roach issue, this place is otherwise amazing, and we would definitely consider returning for another visit.

Oh the view

The view, oh the view. It was SPECTACULAR. The photos are exactly the same as in person. The home was comfortable. There is plenty of room for sleeping. The bunk room was a hit for my special needs adult son. The king size bed was very comfortable. There was another bedroom with 2 queen size beds too. The kitchen had all that we needed, except ice. There was no ice maker, but there was plenty of coffee and filters. A kitchen table would have been nice to sit and eat when it was too chilly outside - where the only table was. We were a little disappointed that there was no storage area in any of the bedrooms, so we had to live out of our suitcases. There was only one suitcase rack for the whole house. Also, there were only 10 hangers, so we couldn't even hang much up. It would be helpful if there was some place to put our clothes other than our suitcase. The bathrooms were okay, but the downstairs bathroom didn't have hot water at the sink. It had good water pressure for showers. The outside shower also had hot water. The only things we didn't like was 1) roaches, 2) gaps under the entrance doors, and 3) the internet wasn't very strong when trying to stream movies. The doors didn't open all the way, but that may be because of the floors. During the storms and wind the house did sway a bit, but that wasn't bad. I mean, it's built on stilts. The beach was just around the corner. We preferred to drive onto the beach, so we drove a little further to a public beach.

Perfect Getaway!

This is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the gulf. Beautiful sunrises and playful dolphins! The house is very clean and comfortable, our host was promptly responsive to our questions. We do plan to return.

A short getaway

This house is everything that the site state it is. It is right on the water and the view is so amazing. The last morning we were there, we got a four hour dolphin show right in front of the house. It was amazing and we want to rent this property again and again.

Worst VRBO

Cockroaches inside house and refrigerator. Mosquitos by the 1000's. My wife was bit more than 50 times in one day. Wifi would only last about 15 minutes until it went down so we had to unplug and reset everytime. The VRBO states there is a washer and dryer. There isn't!! We had to wash our clothes in the bath tub and let air dry. The house swayed back and forth which was uneasy. We complained several times and still haven't heard back. Probably because there is a For Sale sign on property now. We have videos of the cockroaches in the fridge and well as the water poring in the window when it rained. This property need a complete remodel.

Sister's Getaway

My two sisters and I stayed four wonderful days at this great beachhouse. The house was very nice with a beautiful ocean view. The beach is a very short distance away. Maybe a couple minutes walk. The host was very helpful with questions and took care of a small TV problem in a very timely manner. We would definitely stay here again.
