Great location

This house was amazing! There were a few things that didn't work but overall the stay was good. The house was big enough that 8 of us were not falling all over each other. The bedrooms were very roomy and the beds very comfortable.

Very nice cabin and a good location on the fighting town creek. There are some issues that should be addressed in the back with water run off that made seating areas quite muddy and unusable, plus the upstairs HVAC system was out for 2 nights. The second night was due to us getting in around 7pm and realizing the temp was not improving, then a delayed response from management until the next morning, but they did send someone out to install window units and it became manageable. It’s a shame as the cabin is quite nice with a good location and an excellent game room.

Beautiful Home

We loved the house and the river. The house was very dirty. The filters in the vents were black with growth coming out of the vents. The hot tub was broken with only two jets working. There were roaches in the kitchen. The property management company sent a housekeeper but the house needs an overall cleaning including the garage and porches. They dropped off new filters and my son changed them. It was Thursday before anyone checked on the hot tub and told us it was broken and would take time to repair. Nothing was done regarding the roaches.

Where do I begin - For starters, cabin was not clean. The room I stayed in had dust on the bedside tables to where you could write/draw in it. Also, on the front porch and main foyer runner had what appeared to be glitter everywhere. Booked a week stay and some of the provided amenities were definitely not enough for a week stay. Also disappointed in the fact the cabin boasts the fire pit down by the river yet they do not supply any firewood. Called and was told it’s provided by the guests and I could pay 130 for firewood to delivered and placed close to the fire pit or buy bundles at the store. Vacation mode was in so we paid for the 130 option. Firewood delivered was wet and placed nowhere close to the fire pit. Lastly, there’s cabins directly to the right and left of the lodge. Heads up, the cabin to the right is under construction. So definitely not a relaxing time due to the pounding of hammers, saws, and timber/lumber being dropped. Let down with our stay at Blue Ridge this year to say the least.

We were a family of 10. Loved the downstairs play area. We spent majority of our trip down there! So many things to do downstairs. It kept our almost 3 year old entertained for hours on end. Also the property is perfection as far as river access. My husband went out trout fishing multiple times. We also enjoyed the sitting area around the fire pit. Also lots of seating inside with plenty of space. The beds were comfy as well & there were plenty of linens/sheets/towels etc. the master shower was very enjoyable, but the other 2 bathrooms were very plain. A major con was it was not clean. I was very disappointed. It almost looks as if someone stayed before us & the only thing done was linen changes. So that’s was a little concerning. But, I did a quick clean when we arrived & the rest of the stay was fine. I would just check with the owners to make sure it’s set up to be cleaned before booking. Also- the ice machine didn’t work in either fridge. We couldn’t get the fireplace to work. Lastly, the hot tub was very cloudy with things floating around. Not a huge deal breaker, but concerning again. I don’t mean to sound picky, and overall it was extremely relaxing. Just a few things I expected to be taken care of that weren’t before we arrived.

GERMAN COCKROACH INFESTATION!

Checked in fine but noticed cockroaches in the kitchen while making dinner. Later saw one in the bathroom upstairs. The next morning while making breakfast, we saw more. Contacted the rental company and pest control came within 1 hour which was nice but is not a quick fix. Continued to see roaches of all stages of the roach life cycle. All food had to be thrown away and luggage and belongings had to be dissected to ensure we did not bring home any roaches or eggs. Carpets stained and had an odor, lamps dusty, toilets not cleaned well and some of the sheets were not the cleanest. It was a shame since the location and rest of the cabin was nice. Very disappointing and definitely hindered the "relaxing" vacation.
