Information told us that bears occasionally show up. Our first night we had the pleasure of viewing their visitation as they inspected our secured garbage cans—it was quite the experience!Absolutely loved it and hope to return in the future.

It's disappointing that there are no hiking trails, just gravel roads and surprisingly high-traffic paved roads through the complex. Still, it's a relatively good place to walk our dog because there are few loose dogs. The fresh air and surrounding woodlands are restorative and invigorating.

The game room was complete with lots of activities, such as pool and air hockey. The fire pit outside was great for smores and chatting about the adventures we had that day. Best of all, our furry friends were able to be with us. The fenced area is terrific to keep your pets safe while getting some play time.

Cozy Cabin in the Woods

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Six adults, one child, and a small dog enjoyed Thanksgiving at this 3-level cabin. The gas fireplace on a timer was awesome and the beds were comfortable with nice linens. The kitchen was ready to complete fast meals but lacking in microwaveable or oven dishes appropriate for a large family meal such as Pyrex or Corningware but we managed. After the host okayed the purchase of a new coffee maker to replace the one with a hole from the previous residents, we were good. The fire pit and hot tub were very nice but it was too cold out to use them much. We left the firewood we brought behind. The large appliances were very nice (dishw., washer & dryer, frig.). The front and back porches need pressure washing, quite dusty with pollen. It was easy to access the home via the gated entry. The management was easy and kind people to work with we found. There was plenty of hot water. Yea!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The cabin was great! We used the game room every night. The kitchen had everything we ever needed. Beds were very comfy, too. We saw deer every day. The roads leading to the cabin were easy. The gps took us straight to the cabin. Downtown Elijay is adorable!The downsides were the chiggers. I used spray every day and only received 4 bites. My hubby did not, and he is eaten up. I wouldn't call it a fenced yard. It's more of a fenced potty area. There's no playing ball or frisbee. If you have a small dog, it'll be fine though. We had 3 med/large dogs, so we had to find other places in the resort to play in. Overall, it was a great stay! 4 stars only because of the fence.

There was plenty of room for the entire family. All the amenities were great. We had not been on a family vacation in years. I am so glad I found this place. We hope to go back again year after year. I just can’t say enough good. I think my favorite part was watching all my children and their significant others enjoy being together. It had been way too long. While there we celebrated my granddaughter‘s three year old birthday. She loved having everyone there. We went hiking to a waterfall, to the apple orchards, picking apples, enjoyed a beer at a local brewery, and, the kids went to a winery. A lot was packed into a short time, but the memories will be for years.

Reviewer Comments: Cabin was in a nice spot, but was not clean, waited 20 minutes to get into the gate and 15 another time.Never could get hold of the property company after check in. When I did raise a question on the text message, the response was fast, all pool sticks were broken except for 1, pool table was way out of level, sofa on main level is totally broken, neither recliner on it works, found a kids sock under the single recliner along with other trash and dog hair. Dog run area had a big hole in it, I cleaned the leaves out of the dog run and found it had not been cleaned in a while..Nothing like cleaning up after another person's dog just so your dogs can go to the bathroom.

Fantastic cabin but...

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Bear Traxx is a great cabin that has some pros and cons. The easy drive up to the cabin was great, but it comes at the cost of the spectacular views we have had in previous cabins. The fact that it is on a gated resort was somewhat inconvenient. Often the gate wasn't manned and every time we left we had to buzz, give our name and cabin number and wait to be let in. Some of the furniture needed replacing, particularly the recliner couch that was crooked and difficult to put back down. On the positive side, the fenced pet area was well thought out allowing our dogs to go in and out at will without concern. The screen porch area with the grill and wood burning fire were beautiful for an evening playing board games. Overall, a nice accessible cabin that was well equipped and provided a pleasant stay for our family.

Furniture broken, some scary to sit on. All games room items need replacing. Pool table is shot, only 1 pool cue not broken. Air hockey table is all cracked. Foos ball needs lubrication. Was very dissapointing as the family get together are very competitive. But cleanliness and everything was included. Home owner needs to improve home.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Bear Traxx was the perfect place for our whole family to celebrate Christmas! We had plenty of space, and yet it was still a cozy atmosphere! We loved the outdoor fireplace on the screened in porch and our dogs were very comfortable in this cabin. The only reason I gave 4 stars for general conditions question was because the reclining mechanisms on some of furniture were not functioning properly, but that wasn’t a big deal for us.

The only reason not giving it all five stars is the kitchen and living room look like someone who got their kitchen supplies and living room furniture from a yard sale. Pots and pans were junk and the love seat and couch were almost non reclining. Unacceptable for such a nice cabin as this. With those updates we would go back and recommend it to others.

Wonderful Family Getaway

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My family and I had the best time, it's hard to find a place that can accommodate 8 people and 4 dogs but this place did it. The cabin was spacious and the location is beautiful. I know there is probably alot of things to see around that area but we just chilled in the cabin, and we definitely didn't get bored, it had a game room downstairs which we made frequent use of and the fireplace was amazing to sit in front of and unwind with family. We definitely hope to return in the future!

We took advantage of the hot tub, the fire pit, and the game room. Having a dollar store nearby for a few necessary items was so convenient. We went to the Apple Festival and Blue Ridge. There was something for everyone at this Bear Trax!

The kids spent less time on electronics and more time playing on the bottom floor game room. Between that, the hot tub and the backyard, they had so much to do. We had a blast and hope to come back soon.

Reviewer Comments: Our vacation was a family gathering/birthday celebration long weekend during the winter. Despite the storm conditions/power outage we enjoyed the spacious, cozy, clean and comfortable cabin. The only negative (inconvenience) was that the coffee grinder does not work. With only whole coffee beans provided, the grinder is a must! Definitely disappointing to discover that on our first morning in the cabin. The best part was watching the snow fall and enjoying the fireplaces!
