This property is perfectly positioned on the Royal Mile. I was a bit concerned about noise since the street can get quite busy, but being built of stone, sound was not an issue. Paul, the property owner/manager, was quite easy to work with and even granted us early entry since our train arrived at 12:30. Everything worked in the apartment and having a washing machine was nice since we had already been traveling for two weeks before arriving. It’s worth noting that the property description says that there is a washer & dryer, but the dryer is actually just a drying rack, not an actual machine. Fortunately the weather was dry, so our clothes dried overnight. As others have said, access to the apartment is up three flights of stone spiral stairs. This will be problematic for some. We (four fit senior citizens) managed OK, but carrying heavy suitcases up and down the stairs was difficult (and scary as there is no handrail after the first floor). All in all, I would definitely stay here again, but I would limit my bags to one carry on and a backpack.
