The pre-arrival email stated that the lock code to enter the unit would arrive “24 hours before check-in..” it did not. When enquiring the morning of the trip we were informed that the code would be sent “by noon.” This created anxiety in that we had to set out for the location without certainty that we had access to the site when we arrived.Upon arrival, access to the unit required climbing up stairs and then downstairs into the unit which we found difficult as an elderly couple. The description of the property was not sufficient to convey this obstacle.My wife found the mattress uncomfortable, sagging in the middle.Our trip included visiting with my son who has dogs and cats. There was cat hair transferred from our clothes to the furniture. We were subsequently charged a “no-pets” violation penalty of 150 on an assumption that we had brought pets into the unit - which we did not - and for what was essentially vacuuming and cleaning, which we assume already occurs between guests as a standard procedure. I paid the penalty fee under protest but I feel taken advantage of here.
