For those interested, here is something about the historical background of our house:
From about 1648 the Swedish crown ruled over parts of Mecklenburg and Western Pomerania for more than two centuries and thus secured the supremacy over the Baltic Sea region. The Hanseatic cities of Wismar and Stralsund were considered Swedish strongholds. Other neighbors sought to weaken and ultimately end the Swedish supremacy. In 1712, during the Great Northern War, 1700-1721, a large naval battle took place in front of Rügen. The young Swedish king Charles XII triumphed. because of his luck in the war, later the tide turned against him. The Great Northern War ended in 1721. From the former Swedish Pomerania, only the island of Rügen and an area north of the Peene remained until the Vienna Congress in 1815. Denmark then received Swedish Pomerania and sold it to Prussia against the Duchy of Lauenburg. Around 1800, still under the Swedish crown, our farmstead (Bondga ° rd) was built and remained in family ownership despite all the turmoil and political systems of different times. It was built in adobe, half-timbered construction with a thatched roof. At first there was only a narrow storage room to the left of the corridor, the so-called black kitchen with pantry and the good parlor; After a significant addition to the family, as well as for maids and grooms, the rooms to the right of the corridor, into the barn, were built. The original premises have remained unchanged in the almost 220 years to date, only the use of the rooms, especially after the necessary comprehensive renovation and modernization in the past few years, has changed, cf. O.
