What a gorgeous getaway in the most stunning location! The cottage is incredibly well-stocked with everything you need (we prepared several meals there), so quiet and close to the most beautiful walks in forests and mountains. We feel utterly refreshed and relaxed after our stay and will definitely be back!

The cottage is in a great location for walking and cycling . You can walk or cycle straight onto the old railway line which is the stary of many walks/cycle routes. The cottage is well equiped and we felt very cmfortable there. The weather was good so we were able to sit outside and enjoy the views.

What a gem of a property. Set in a stunning location. Traditional cottage, spotlessly clean with modern touches to add to your comfort. We did cook the majority of the time but visited George III pub one evening which we would definitely recommend.There are lots of birds around, which provided lots of opportunity for my husband to indulge in his photography. We enjoyed a lovely day at the Vale of Rheidol Railway at Aberystwyth and also 2 or 3 of the lovely walks in the area.Andrea is an excellent host, providing so much information and has thought of everything to ensure your stay is as comfortable as possible at Riverside Cottage. We will definitely be returning.

We loved our stay at Riverside Cottage. The cottage itself had everything we needed and it has been finished to a very high standard. Unlike a lot of places the appliances are from quality manufacturers such as Samsung (fridge, oven, and dishwasher), AEG (washing machine), and Bosch (gas hob), and the beds are super comfy with crisp white linen on them. Cut off from the (quiet) road also it feels quite alone and it is not overlooked. To cap it off the host was very helpful and gave us all the information we needed for a great stay. That included a list of lovely walks, of various grades, which can be done from/to the cottage, and there is also a nice pub within easy walking distance, which overlooks the estuary (George III Inn). We really relaxed here and just found the whole stay totally perfect

We had a lovely stay in riverside cottage.Andrea was a great host full of information and always answers any messages promptly. The cottage is located in a fabulous location. 10 min walk to the estuary through a forest. Just stunning. Sitting having my morning coffee outside by the river every morning was heaven. The cottage itself is a small, but cosy old building with and thick stone walls full of character. The front room is a lovely room to relax after a long day walking and the bed is very comfy. Kitchen and bathroom are a little older in style but exactly as the photos and perfectly fine. We cooked every day and had all the amenities.Lots of birds and wildlife all around. And if you love jets and planes the Mach loop is 15 mins away. Would stay again.

Hidden Gem!

We booked a short stay for our wedding anniversary. When riverside cottage came up as an option we snapped it up. The location is stunning from every angle. The cottage is both traditional with exposed beams and the thick stone walls you would expect but with modern touches for comfort. The babbling river outside and the welcome party of birds each morning added to the relaxing vibe. The horses in the field opposite were the icing on the cake. Lovely touches of chocolate love spoons and prosecco to wish us happy anniversary on arrival - made us welcome from the start.

The fairytale cottage

Riverside Cottage is situated in a fairytale setting, with woodland behind and the river in front of the cottage. Access is easy, however, and we had no problems finding it. We could park the car close to the front door. Gaining entry was easy, following the clear instructions we'd received, and we found the cottage clean, comfortable and surprisingly spacious. In the evening when the temperature dropped the electric fire warmed the living area up very quickly. We slept very well. The location is very convenient for visiting nearby attractions, and we visited The Ffestiniog Railway, the Talyllyn Railway and the Vale of Rheidol Railway during our stay, taking in Barmouth, Porthmadog and Aberystwyth. We ate out once, down the road at the George III pub at Penmaenpool, which was very nice and had very quick service. The rest of the time we cooked in the cottage. We will be back and next time will be spending more time watching out for the wildlife!
