Good Location

The accommodation was very clean. It is very average but adequate. Not sure if was internet in Guadeloupe or the wifi in the house but it was rarely working. Neighbor's dog barks a lot during the night. Even though all communication was in French, Yannick was responsive and welcoming.

Nous avons adoré notre séjour dans cette maison de vacances ! La vue est spectaculaire! Le hamac un plus pour voir cette belle vue! Un très grand apartement qui est très bien equipe! Yannick est tellement à accueillante et gentille ! Vraiment une superbe personne ! Elle nous a même invité à souper chez elle un soir ! Un de nos meilleurs repas en Guadeloupe! Merci encore pour cette belle accueil!

Family Winter Vacation @ Guadeloupe

We visited Guadeloupe for the first time in Dec 2018. I picked this location based on the review & photos and it is absolutely wonderful location. Yanick's home is in a very convenient location, it’s close to several beautiful beaches, little town Deshaies, shops and other attractions. We stayed in the smaller two bed part of the house and it was very comfortable for our family with 3 kids. Yanik (host) was very helpful from the day we arrived there and hosted a fantastic new year’s party at her home – Thanks a lot Yanik for the party. Guadeloupe is a beautiful island with lots of things to do and enjoy the nature. I will definitely visit this place again and I will ONLY stay at this property. -- RK & Family

Wonderful Visit

Yannick was very kind and had food for us when we arrived late due to plane delay. Left some fruit the next morning as well, and these touches mean a lot when you are in a new environment. The unit was perfect for my sister and I, the view from the hill just gorgeous, we really enjoyed our stay.

Best host ever !!!

Yannick and her family treated us as if we had just discovered an unknown branch of our family tree ! These folks redefine the phrase "those with helping hearts and hands". My wife fell suddenly ill and was hospitalized during the middle of our stay and Yannick did everything humanly possible to help us in so many ways. She visited, she made food, she gave useful and practical advise and suggestions. Yannick is an angel and we can not thank her enough. Note that all of this is just frosting on top of the cake which is the lovely and spacious rental unit occupying about 2/3 of the total lower level of this rather large and tidy family home. The remaining portion of the ground floor is the 2nd rental unit. The property description is absolutely accurate. The air conditioning in the bedrooms works great and the fact that the bedrooms are in the rear of the structure means that normal night sounds of tree frogs and roosters are much reduced which helps clients who are light sleepers. Being on a hill means that you always receive a breeze of cool air coming off the colder ocean water just a few hundred yards away. Also, I suggest that you definitely add the family restaurant (ZaZa Grill) to your list of "must try" places to eat. Simple and tasty food to satisfy anyone's wishes. You can't miss it as you drive into town from the rental house. Note: dinner only, and closed on Sunday and Monday. All in all, this rental turned out to be exactly what we wanted and needed for our two week stay in Deshaies. We will certainly be coming back!

Best Host Yannick! Wonderful, very clean villa! Spectacular View!

This review is for the bottom unit in the villa. Yannick was our favorite host! She offered the best hospitality that we had ever experienced. You will feel so welcome in her lovely home. From the very beginning when we booked this property until the time we left Deshaies was such a great experience. She was so friendly to our entire family. She made each one of us feel special. The villa was very clean and had a wonderful view of the village and mountains. We even had a washing machine which was very much appreciated. We also had the pleasure of meeting her husband at their restaurant ZaZa Grill. We wish that we would have dined there every night as it was so delicious. The food was the best. Do yourself a favor and skip the restaurants on the beach and dine at ZaZa instead. We highly recommend it. We can’t thank you enough, Yannick, for making our stay so enjoyable!!! We will definitely return one day. Dianne

A perfect base to explore lovely Deshaies

This is the smaller of two rental units in a large house with a commanding view across the village and bay of Deshaies. Perfect to chill or (better) explore this exciting stretch of coast. The apartment isn't particularly fancy but good value to accommodate up to 4 guests. Yannick is an extremely friendly host. We loved our stay!

The property and position is outstanding - high up on a hill overlooking the bay of Deshaies and the view is incredible. The road to the villa is extremely steep but after a couple of attempts you get used to it so no problem. Deshaies is a quiet little place with several restaurants - always check their opening days/times though! Nearby beaches and lovely and the road network is good. For this property a car is essential as you would find it difficult and dangerous to walk into town. Yannick is amazing- extremely kind and generous with a wealth of knowledge of where to go and what to see. We ate at the family restaurant Zaza Grill which had good food too. We had a fantastic holiday in Guadeloupe made all the more enjoyable by yannick and her family. Thank you Yannick for making our time in Guadeloupe the best! This is a property not to be missed - book it and enjoy it as much as we did.

Great View and Warm Hospitality!

Located on a hillside overlooking the town of Deshaises, this comfortable and somewhat secluded bungalow far exceeded our expectations. The place is well furnished with a colorful mid-century modern vibe and a decidedly Caribbean island twist. Our host was warm and generous, leaving us delicious soup, ham and tarts to eat when we arrived, which was perfect because we got there at night and did not feel like searching for a restaurant or going food shopping in the dark. The driveway is long and steep but our little rental car had no problem. The host gave me advice for tackling the climb, which applies to driving on Basse-Terre generally --"No Fear". Roosters and goats roam freely in the front yard. We stayed for four nights and ate at the host's restaurant, the ZaZa Grill in Deshaises, not fancy but authentic, delicious food. We'd go back to this place in a heartbeat!

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour malheureusement trop court. Yannick ainsi que son mari ont vraiment été aux petits soins pour nous. Le lieu est magnifique. Bref rien à redire si ce n’est qu’on espère y revenir. On recommande les yeux fermés.

Points positifs: Vue superbe sur la baie de Deshaies Propriétaire sympathique, réactive et arrangeante Points négatifs: Logement difficile d'accès (chemin caillouteux avec de fortes pentes) Appartement aménagé de façon sommaire au rez de jardin de la villa (présence de marches de différents niveaux dans chaque pièce; petite baie vitrée en façade laissant une entrée de 60 cm de large; accès à la salle de bains-WC constituée par une porte-accordéon en plastique fatiguée de 60 cm de large; présence d'une affiche au-dessus des toilettes demandant de 'Ne pas jeter le papier toilette dans la cuvette mais dans la poubelle' , véridique, nous avons la photo! pas d'eau chaude pour l'évier de la cuisine, le tuyau d'arrivée n'est pas branché; couverts vieillots et limités en nombre, 4 petites cuillères.... Je ne comprend pas la note élevée accordée à ce logement!

Vue exceptionnelle

Nous confirmons , l'emplacement de la villa est exceptionnel, vue complète sur le village et le port de Deshaies . Depuis la terrasse, on peut passer des heures à contempler le paysage. En plus nous ne pouvons que remercier notre hôte pour sa gentillesse extraordinaire. Notre séjour fut trop court.

un accueil fantastique!

La vue est splendide, l'appartement parfaitement fonctionnel, le cadre fabuleux, le village tranquille et les activités alentour riches et variées mais nous retiendrons par dessus tout l'accueil chaleureux de Yannick notre si joyeuse hôtesse et son mari Harry. Entre christophine, poissons et poulets grillés, rhum à gogo et énormes fous rires avec les autres locataires du moment, notre séjour gardera le goût de Deshaies et de ce couple hors du commun!

L'art de recevoir en Guadeloupe

C'était notre première escale en Guadeloupe et on doit dire que Yannick et Harry ont mis la barre extrêmement haute en terme d'accueil. On s'y sent comme dans une deuxième famille. Havre de paix à Deshaies

L'emplacement de propriété offre une vue imprenable sur la baie de Deshaies. Yannick par son accueil chaleureux et sa disponibilité nous a tout de suite fait sentir chez nous dans ce logement. Elle nous a tout au long du séjour gâtés de petits plats maison, et a toujours été très réactive pour gérer toute difficulté, bravo et merci Yannick, un réel plaisir de t'avoir rencontré.

un petit paradis

Nous avons été accueillis très chaleureusement par Yannick (c'est un vrai rayon de soleil qui fera tout pour faciliter votre séjour) . Elle a été au petit soin avec nous (ty punch en guise de bienvenue), toujours disponible et prête à rendre service. La vue sur Deshaies est époustouflante. Le lieu est très tranquille et à proximité immédiate de plages magnifiques et à deux pas du jardin botanique. La literie est très confortable et l'appartement bien équipé. Nous vous conseillons une halte au ZAZA Grill, le restaurant familial. Allez y en toute confiance, c'est un régal. Nous conseillons vivement cette location et sommes certains d'y retourner.
