Musty room, cat litter smell, unfriendly staff.

I will not stay here again. Didn't like the feel for the price. Room was musty smelled like cat litter. One night was all I could have taken. Overall I was very unhappy staying here, customer service is horrible, hidden fee's everywhere, room service over priced and disgusting and was just overall enjoyable.

Days Inn--Great Hotel

The hotel is located at the heart of Santa Barbara. Walking distance to the beach as well as restaurants. The outside of the hotel looks old compared to the other nearby hotels, but when you go in, it is really impressively clean on everything. The room smells fresh and all fixed. There are plenty of choices for breakfast..fresh coffee, juice, tea, cocoa...muffins, danish--really reasonable for the price we paid. Most importantly, the people at the front desk treated us well and very personalized. This hotel is very well recommended.

THE HOTEL IN SANTA BARBARA,CA WAS IN A PERFECT

location, unfortunitley, the front desk was very rude and not welcoming at all. no smile, no welcome. Very rude. on the night of 11/12/10, the two men that were in the room next to me, had a very, very huge argument. yelling, screaming, from 1:00 am to 3:25 am. I called the front desk. The front desk did nothing!! Told me " the argument will end soon". What kind of crap is that?? I paid just like everyone else. The front desk should have knocked on the door of the two men, and asked them to please be quite, because of complaints. That never happened. When I checked out on 11/14/10. THAT WAS HORRIBLE!!! I asked for a receipt, they said I did not get one because I should have a receipte from placing my order online. When I was driving off, I stopped again to get free coffee in the lobby. The lady behind the desk said that I had "TO MANY PEOPLE"" !!!!. I asked her "what do you mean?" I told her I checked in with 2 adults and one child age 10. I told herThat she was being rude, and that I wanted a receipt because I didn't want her to put charges on my bill. I told her I did not trust her. She told me " just leave, just leave". I told her, I will never be back!!!

Better than Expected

Seeing as how I chose this motel strictly because it was the lowest price I could find for Halloween Weekend, I was pleasantly surprised at how comfortable it was and the convenient location. We came in on the train and was able to walk to the motel. We arrived late, but there is a phone on the outside of the office and the night manager (actually he was the only guy I saw at the desk all week end?) promptly came out and had us checked in. The rooms are nothing special, but clean and comfortable with a fridge, which is a big plus to me. Our room was pretty cool as it had one bed in the main room and another, separate bedroom through a connecting door. This worked out perfectly for us as one of was liked to sleep in quiet and dark and the other liked to sleep with the TV on. I mentioned this to the manager and he stated that our room was unique because of it's corner location. They have a "Continental Breakfast", mainly packaged pastries, fruit and juice - but we're not breakfast people anyway so this was perfectly sufficient. The place was pretty packed, but fairly quiet. I slept with the bedroom window open and the only noise that woke me was rain during the night. It's located only blocks from the beach and walking distance to the Wharf and State St. There are buses that run along the water front and down State St, so not having a car was not a problem. The price was not cheap. We stayed two nights and it cost about twice what a room of this caliber would cost in just about any other town, but like I said, it was the cheapest I could find for Santa Barbara. All things considered, I would stay here again.

Reasonably priced, close to ocean

This is a perfectly nice no frills motel and very cheap for Santa Barbara. I like the location on the ocean side of the freeway. It's two blocks from a brew pub and across the street from Pershing Park, where a softball game always seems to be going on. There is a nice walk to the community college on the top of the bluff with good views.

You get what you pay for

If you want to be right by the harbor you can. But don't expect much at this price. A small room in a run down hotel/motel. Paper thin walls, a spa that can fit 2 people, and so much less. For the location it works but the place is pretty sad. My wife almost asked us to find a new place. you have been warned...

This hotel was exactly what I expected it to be perhaps a bit better. The location is awesome! It is really close to the beach, pier, State Street, etc. We walked down to the beach easily. The hotel is what to expect from a Days Inn. The hotel is small; the rooms were clean; the shower was a little wonky with temperature. However, the location makes this hotel worth staying at.

Close enough to walk to State Street but

This spot was a little small and kind of crappy. It was perfectly clean and the mom-and-pop running it were fine...I was just expecting a little more bang for my buck. It was more of a motel. Front desk ran my card when I checked in, even though I had already paid online. Had to have the charge reversed. Irritating. Breakfast was a joke; don't bother. For what I paid to stay there they should have delivered it to my room and fed me.
