Amazing

We loved the property. Although it’s old in a goed way, it was also very clean. We loved the outdoor areas too. You do have to drive a bit to buy your bread but it’s worth it. Details we loved: there was a bottle of good white wine offered to us, if we had a question, like “where can we buy some good wine”, we got their personal list of vineyards and when we ware all admiring the water wheel, the owner took the effort of removing the top cover so we could enjoy the wheel turning. Lovely people! Also, there was firewood waiting in the fireplace, ready to go and there was charcoal available for the bbq. We hope to visit again.

Beautiful and special property

We were all buzzing around with excitement at this property when we arrived. The kids thought it was incredible! It's such an old building, full of history and not spoiled in its renovation, it was still so characterful. The kids loved that we restricted the flow of the water at night to quieten it down, and then released it every morning - we got lucky as the water wheel does not always turn but we got some movement out of it! The house is rustic, and not full of mod-cons, but it had pretty much everything we needed. The outside eating area was lovely for bbqs, and the garden lovely and big for games. The house has a lovely mezzanine library level at the top that the kids enjoyed relaxing in. We really enjoyed visiting Guedelon, a castle that is being built from scratch in medieval style, using only crafts and skills from that period in history, it was truly a fabulous day out. Lovely villages to visit in the area are Vezelay, a very pretty and ancient village up on a hilltop, and we also loved Druyes-les-Belles-Fontaines with its castle overlooking the village with the river and waterways routed all through the streets. So pretty. It's a drive to a shop or Patisserie from the house and unfortunately the patisserie was shut for the week we were there, but the supermarket in Varzy had everything we needed. We also visited Clemecy a couple of times to explore the shops and old buildings, and watch the boats going through the canal locks. Thank you for a wonderful week.

House with a history

A traditional French rural property whose owners have retained its rustic charm and its sense of an historic past. That said, it is more than a comfortable getaway. Equipped for social gatherings, with ample gardens the mill is situated in beautiful countryside. If you want easy access to the bustle of town and city life, it's not for you. If you want leisurely days, meandering through the local countryside, local villages and peace and quiet, this is the place to go.

What an amazing property - a slice of country paradise

This house is a dream. The property is huge and fairy tale like, the house itself can sleep quite a few people and it is spacious enough to be comfortable for all. Multiple areas to hang out both inside and out, about 5-10 min drive to a main grocery store. Everything you need for a pleasant stay in the French countryside. Would return in a heartbeat!

Magic holiday experience!

The hosts were delightful and looked after us from the moment we arrived, without interfering. The mill is as shown on the website and provides a warm, welcoming and comfortable holiday house. It is quite and the garden allows for relaxation and outdoor dinners next to the small stream powering the water mill. A gem. We would love to come back anytime.

A Slice of history

The mill is amazing. Full of french charm and layers of history. Loads of room, great facilities and beautiful grounds. A quiet and peaceful position in a charming village a short drive from Varzy and its shops. We especially enjoyed using the old bread oven to make the most delicious pizzas. Patricia could not have been more welcoming or helpful. We were sad to leave. Xx

Wir kamen aus Deutschland, Österreich und Ungarn und fuhren von hier aus über die Schweiz zum Neusiedler See, nach Aachen (D) Karlsruhe (D), Ferien Bretagne weiter und nach Marseille, unvergesslich!

Le bonheur! Un moulin magnifique, des hôtes charmants tout était réuni pour que notre séjour soit parfait. Tout a été pensé pour que rien ne vous manque, la cuisine est très bien équipée, les chambres agréables avec en prime le bruit de l'eau du moulin. Joli cadre très calme.

De la place pour se restaurer et dormir. Le seul reproche est au niveau sanitaire et salle de bain. Des douches seraient vraiment un plus surtout pour des personnes qui avancent en âge. Sinon une belle région à découvrir. Guédelon tout près.

authentique moulin, vintage à souhait

petit week-end entre amis, à 1 heure de Sancerre, 3/4 d'heure de Guédelon. l'endroit est calme, seule la chute d'eau bercera vos nuits. le logement est fonctionnel, bien équipé. l'accueil par les propriétaires a été trés sympathique.

Wir haben mit insgesamt 10 Leuten in der wunderschönen Mühle übernachtet. Das Hauptziel war Guedelon. Aber wenn man 1 Stunde Fahrtzeit in Kauf nimmt, kann man viele historische Städte besichtigen. Die Zimmer der Mühle waren liebevoll eingerichtet. Das Wohnzimmer ist mit einem Kamin ausgestattet. Der Garten war groß und mit einer schönen Sitzgruppe ausgestattet. Diese Mühle hat Charme und alles, was man braucht. Der einzige winzige Mangel sind die eher beiden kleinen Toiletten. Die Vermieterin war super nett und die Kommunikation mit Übersetzer gar kein Problem und reibungslos. Vielen Dank dafür.

Super vacances au moulin. Cadre magnifique propreté irréprochable. Nous avons profité au maximum de ce moulin de charme parfaitement entretenu aussi bien a l intérieur que les espaces communs. Wir waren mit unseren Kindern (alle 20+) für zwei Wochen in dieser schönen Mühle. Wir alle fühlten uns während der gesamten Urlaubszeit sehr wohl. Es ist der ideale Ort für eine friedliche Entschleunigung.
