Think back to the best family trips of your childhood—the ones where you snuck away to a classic cabin tucked deep in the woods, kicked your boots off at the door, and let the days slow down completely. That is the exact feeling we’ve built here at Kindred Homestead, our hidden little hilltop in the Sierras.
Our cozy, camp house is designed for stepping away from the screens and leaning into fresh mountain air, board games, and morning coffee on the porch.
A Unique Farm Experience
As a special bonus, you are staying on our active, developing family homestead! Right past the two barns on your way in, you’ll find our herd of goats, pigs, and our free-ranging chickens. It’s the perfect, soulful slice of mountain life for anyone who loves nature, animals, and a grounded escape.
Space & Guest Access
You have the entire guest house to yourselves, with a private entrance and dedicated parking. To find us, just turn into the property, pass our two barns, and the house is right there on your left.
While our family lives right here on the property and is around to tend to the animals, we value the classic, quiet camp experience above all else. We completely respect your privacy and will leave you to your peace and quiet unless you reach out to us first!
Things to Note
Farm Etiquette: You are welcome to watch the animals and say hello from the fence lines! For your safety and theirs, please do not enter the animal pens or barns without us.
Fresh Well Water: No need to haul plastic water bottles up the hill. Our water comes straight from our local well and goes through a full filtration system. It’s crisp, clean, and delicious right out of the tap.
Unplug & Reconnect: We have reliable Wi-Fi if you need to log in, but the house is intentionally set up to help you unplug, connect with each other, and enjoy the sights and sounds of the forest.
