We liked this hotel. The location was good - easy walk into town. We were happy to eat breakfast and dinner in the on site restaurant. Food provided on the hotel was good. The hot buffet breakfast was lovely as was the staff working the days we were there. The parking was easy and the day rate during the week was 13.00 GBP which was reasonable compared to what we paid elsewhere. Our room was spacious and had everything we needed. I would stay at this hotel again.

The traditional decor was beautiful. However, we waited over an hour for a bar snack and in the end got a full refund and the lift broke down and we were on the second floor. But the staircase was out of this world. The Staff were lovely and friendly and the Hotel was clean and tidy. Very convenient location, right opposite the Train station.

As a wheelchair user it was not the best. My small mobility scooter wouldn't fit in the main building lift so had to be dismantled to get to my room. When we came to go out for the evening the lift was broken so I had to stagger down 2 floors to go out. Luckily it was fixed by our return. There was almost no signage to the accessible entrance which is round the back of the newer building and that entrance was broken telling you to go to the front entrance - no one came after using the assistance bell, my husband went in and we were told to go even further round the back of the buildings. I would recommend anyone with mobility issues to ask for a room in the newer tower block. Breakfast was good and the room was OK except the bathroom was tiny

Arrived early and while not expecting the room to be ready, I did expect to be able to check in and collect key later. Person on the desk was quite abrupt and rude about it. Got back to the hotel late - allocated room 1310. Windows were mouldy and there was quite a bit of mould in the shower too. Bed seemed to have a hole in the middle of the mattress. As we weee only there from 10pm it didn’t make sense to move rooms but others should be aware.

Room wasn’t cleaned, so we went to speak with reception who advised they were so busy, and wasn’t their fault, we needed extra tea and bin emptied as we had done everything else, only fault, customers don’t really want to know how busy they are, they want to be treated as individuals and expect a level of service, to which they have paid for (premium room) we were given two drink vouchers to say sorry. But the bar man didn’t know how to use them so we just paid for our drinks,

I asked for a room close to lift it was a long walk to lift no disabled assistance and the room was me lift when has a long walk get ther if lifts were working they could not change our room to something mor ground level and when they could said it wasn’t possible to change to room 90 the hotel was through a car park they put us in and because of the distance I had to buy a walking stick that cost £25.00 in Chester because I couldn’t walk down 1 long corridor then another to a lift we were there for a funeral and on the day I was that dizzy on the day sort of breath with the walking so far

Reasonable.

Room was a good size and bed was comfortable. Check in experience was ok, not very welcoming. It’s much cheaper to go for a drink in the centre than at hotel. Convenient location for station and easy walk to centre. Plenty of parking during the week at £15 for 24 hours. We paid £107 for a superior room on a Thursday night.

We were so happy with our stay at the Queen Hotel. After we got off the train we were happy to see the hotel right outside the train station, then we were greeted by the very friendly and helpful John at reception. He was so cheerful and helpful and made us feel at home at this very well appointed hotel.

What a lovely hotel this is. Attention to detail is amazing. Room was spotless we had a Deluxe King. Air conditioning well needed it was a hot day. Decor is beautiful. Check in was able to check in earlier as room was ready.
