I have vacationed in the Cashiers area for 40 years and have always wanted to stay on the beautiful ridge where the cabin is located. It was even better than I'd hoped! The Chinquapin community includes 2,000 acres of lovely natural areas with trails, waterfalls, conservation lands, and thoughtfully planned neighborhoods. The cabin is walking distance from "The Outpost", Chinquapin's community gathering area for concerts, cookouts, and lawn games. The Chinquapin property abuts the spectacular 6,300-acre Panthertown Valley recreation area, with 30 miles of Nantahala National Forest trails.
The cabin itself was more than cozy with 2 bedrooms, 2 baths and 3 wonderful outdoor porches and decks. The cabin was very bright and clean, and felt plenty spacious during my month-long stay.
The owner was immediately responsive when I had questions and reached out to make sure I was aware of and included in community events. It was easy to meet neighbors but the cabin was also private and peaceful. It was a great combination of community and retreat - I will be back!
