The Palmetto Hotel is a very special experience !

We had a amazing trip to Charleston .The Palmetto Hotel is wonderful . The entire staff is very friendly and willing to help make your stay special and personal .They all remember your name and are just the warmest and most accommodating ! We will visit again soon .

The room was small. No where to put luggage. We were out since the morning walking came back to the room around 5 to rest and get ready before dinner, room not cleaned. When it was finally cleaned it was as if they just changed the towels. And made the bed. Slippers were thrown in the middle of the bathroom. In different spots. Just strange. Breakfast is so so. I mean it’s fine. Just don’t expect anything special.

Hotel is charming and nicely decorated. There was a mixup with our room. We were expecting a premium room with more space and a pullout sofa bed and a street view. Instead, we got a smaller room with one king bed and an alley view. We were told that our Expedia booking misrepresented the room and there was nothing that could be done. Housekeeping was disappointing. Our room was not cleaned our first day and had to notify management to get it cleaned (got clean towels but bed was still not made). Same thing happened day two. I spoke to housekeeping staff and was told they had a lot of guests checking out and those rooms took priority. We were late for our lunch reservation because we had to wait to get into our room while they cleaned it (still not a full cleaning). Had to speak to management again to get it done, but still no clean glasses or towels. Hotel is very close to many great restaurants and a short walk to the market. This was a nice amenity, but very disappointing guest service, given the price of the room we ended up staying in.

The Palmetto did not disappoint! It was everything all the positive reviews had to say. It smelled wonderful, I was greeted by the friendly staff, the bed was so comfortable, that shower with multiple heads and Jett’s - WOW!, the breakfast was wonderful with the grits, the eggs, oh and the snacks in the room with water in a carafe (just like another person reviewed :) I loved using their bicycle to go shopping on King Street, so many restaurants right by the hotel - it was crazy, Guest reviews really are the best. I find them so helpful and I hope you find this just the push you were needing to book here. You won’t be sorry. So incredibly delightful! Xo

Great hotel with small toilet rooms.

The location was great. Easy walk to every where. Hotel was nicely decorated and clean. Rooms was nice and clean. The only downside to the whole hotel was size of the room where toilet was in the bathroom. It is small. No room at all. So if a big person it will be very hard to use.

The inviting lobby and bar are great for relaxing, coordinating your day, enjoying a cocktail. Every person we met working there are delightful. The Palmetto is located in the middle of everything. A few blocks from Waterfront Park, and Charleston City Market and the carriage rides. The dining choices nearby are remarkable.Cannot wait to return for a longer stay.

Pro- good location, pretty decor, nice bed and tv. Housekeeping is amazing and delivers carafes of water! Con - Stains on floor, gym is a 10 min drive, parking is insane (but there’s a cheaper deck next door).
