We were delighted with the appearance of the condo on arrival. It is very new, with excellent appliances and tons of space. As we got to settling in, though, issues began popping up with startling frequency. The floors had a sticky film, and much of the floor also had a black substance that could not be seen unless you walked on it in white socks. Bath towels were terribly stained (appeared to be that same black substance). The kitchen stove top hadn't been cleaned from the last use. The keurig was nasty and a lot of coffee grinds wound up in the cup because of lack of regular cleaning. No clocks worked so we had to replace the batteries. Two of the three barstools were very dangerous to use due to missing bolts, one of which was found on the floor.
Though it wasn't a cleaning issue, and the condo description did mention stairs, we would not have even chosen the condo, as beautiful as it is, due to the actual number of stairs. Climbing 30 steps (and steep ones at that) several times a day for a 65 and a 70 year old became problematic. It would be more than helpful if a warning about that were included in the description. This issue, though, was not raised with the owners as it was somewhat described and we should probably have asked for more information about the steps before renting.
The owners suggested they refund the unused days we had contracted for, to which we agreed, and moved out. Surprisingly, we were charged a cleaning fee after all of that.
