pros: - food was truly great. the breakfast was excellent, the almost-always available freshly made tacos were incredible. pool side grill was great. gelato was really phenomenal. churo/ benuela stand was fun! asian restaurant and mexican places were very good. the steakhouse was our least favourite. -service was great- carlos G (our breakfast waiter) had memorized our particulars by day 2 (who needed coffee, extras etc) and the staff would come round the pool often to bring you what you needed. -rooms very comfortable -pools were really good. clean, lots of space, inflatable for the kids. -beaches were stand out- so much fun for the kids, clean, white sand, and lots of shallow space for snorkelling and wave jumping cons: i didn't love the kids club- you had to check your kid in for like each activity and it was really tailored to very very little kids. not much (at the kids club) for our 7-9 year olds (but it was ok as the rest of the resort was awesome) also, there is no waterpark or lazy river, except some slides that were only accessible through the kids club. overall, this resort was great!

We stayed at Hyatt Ziva from 12/23–12/27, and I can honestly say it was worth the $4K to spend Christmas there. My daughter absolutely loved the kids club—there were so many activities, and it gave us plenty of time to relax and enjoy quality time together as a couple. The resort grounds were stunning, immaculately clean, and very well maintained. I would rate the rooms a 6/10. For the price point, there shouldn’t have been visible cracks in the walls, and some of the fixtures felt dated and in need of renovation. One aspect that was difficult for me was the dolphins on property. We chose not to participate in those activities, and I hope the resort considers reevaluating this in the future. The food options were excellent, especially the seafood night at the buffet it was a standout. Room service, however, was mediocre, and there could be improvement in promptly clearing food trays and debris from the hallways after guests finish their meals. Lastly, the service was impeccable. The staff truly deserves major praise they went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and satisfied throughout our stay. Aside from the room renovations needed, I have no other major complaints, and this is definitely a resort we would return to.

10/10 would stay here again. Everything was so convenient and close by. We stayed at the tourquize adults only side and the room we had was spacious and clean. Towels were switched twice a day, amazing!! Fridge and snacks stocked every day but do you really need it when all the food and drinks were easily available? Spoiler: yes because those passion fruit gummies were so tasty and a cold cola at 2am was an experience I didn’t know I needed. Marie and Adrian were our butlers and they were helpful and professional. Marie especially helped us quite a bit with random things we needed and had perfect timing. Lorenzo’s was our favourite restaurant (the fig pizza!!) and the adult only pool was a nice relaxing touch away from the other pools with kids. Also the arrachera steak they had poolside was delicious. Loved the cafe they had, lots of different coffee options. They also have churro and taco carts around the resort. The only critique I have is the desserts in general were not great (except for the pistachio cannoli at Lorenzo’s) There were a bunch of activities but make sure you figure out which ones need reservations because we weren’t able to attend some. But the one we did attend was fun. The beach was pretty but it gets really busy and there aren’t a lot of beach chairs, so I suggest getting there early to claim a spot. Overall great stay.
