Highly recommended!

I almost hesitate to say how impressed we were with everything because I want to keep this gem for ourselves, but the hosts deserve the praise and the business. We honestly could not have been more impressed with the open communication and level of service from the hosts, the location and cleanliness of the cottage, and the amazing friendly and relaxed vibe of the entire cay. We will definitely be back!

Such a beautiful stay. Ida and Terren took care of all details with the cottage as well as a private tour and use of golf carts. The cottage is a gem! The view, the amenities, just everything were perfect. The town is lovely and the people are so kind. We love this place and hope to return!

I loved the people! Loved the food. Lorraine’s daughter is an artist, her shop is in the airport. Loved the little airport. The views are breathtaking. Ida and her family take care of a golf cart and boat excursions. Exumas is my favorite place. I always return. If you just want to relax and enjoy the island, best place to go. I can’t say enough great things about Black point. I’ll be back to bring candy for the children. Side note the steps to beach are not for bad knee’s Thank you to everyone I meet

A perfect escape to paradise

We had an amazing time during our stay at one of Ida’s beach cottages. Incredible views front porch and back!! The cottage itself is cozy and clean with great air conditioning and everything we needed to make meals in the kitchenette. Food on the island is quite expensive so we definitely recommend flying in work as much as you can!! But we really enjoyed visiting the local groceries and the restaurants on the island. The golf cart rental is highly recommended, we used it everyday and had a blast exploring this incredible island paradise!! Also, we had the perfect day on a boat tour with Terrin, he took us to several top attractions around the Exumas and it was spectacular!!! Thanks again to the Patton family and we sure hope to return some day!!

We spend 7 nights, the property is amazing, the pictures do not do it justice. IDA the property host will go above and beyond to make sure that you have everything you need, from excursions to golfcarts she got it covered. We highly recommend that you rent a golfcart for your entire stay. We had so much fun exploring the island with ours. After this stay we spend a couple of nights in a exclusive luxury resort at three times the price and we both agreed that we enjoyed our stay so much more at this Black Point property.

Beautiful and Remote

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cottage. Ida was great and helpful. The location was beautiful and right on the beach. We would return in a heartbeat! Couple of things to know: The location is remote so it is important to rent a golf cart or bikes. There were no light poles close to the house and challenging to get home at night by bike because of this. The groceries on the island are pretty limited and expensive - grocery stores only accept case (they do accept american dollars). There are only about 5 restaurants on the island. Getting there you need to catch a local airline like Flamingo Air from Nassau.

ISLAND PARADISE!!!

This is our second time to stay in Blackpoint at Ida Patton's cottages. There isn't enough words to describe our stay. The cottages are perfect in every way from the furnishings to the amenities and the cleanliness. Every view out of our cottage is breathtaking, from the Atlantic dark blue out the front door to the turquoise Caribbean Sea out the back door. Simply heaven!!! Ida is such a joy to be around and she works night and day to ensure that all of her guests are happy. We love Blackpoint for so many reasons, the first one being the people on Blackpoint are the friendliest people I have ever encountered! They genuinely want you to be there! Fresh fish is abundant whether you go to one of the restaurants or hire a captain to take you out and catch your own. We cooked in the cottage and had our own fish, conch and lobster prepared at the restaurants. We never grew tired of the abundance of fresh seafood in the Exumas. We have become close to so many people on the Island From Ida, Captain Dorane (AKA adopted son) a Diver Extraordinaire, to the local restaurant and store owners. We are already planing a couple more trips back to Blackpoint! We truly can't get enough!!

Amazing location! Super clean cottage with all amenities.

The property and the owner were beyond amazing! They made for our best vacation experience ever. We paid for a boat tour and the guide (Keith) recommended by Ida (the cottage owner) made it the best tour we have ever been on. Worth every penny to stay here. We cant say enough good things about being here. We will come back for sure. We spent one whole day just sitting in the clear water of this property’s beach. Have never seen anything like it!

Seriously - I want to live here! Ida, Diane. Lorraine, and all the others are awesome hosts.

Black Point is a small friendly little village. We rented a cabin from Ida and it was perfect. I quickly felt at home here. It has a few little restaurants/bars and some limited grocery shopping - it is heaven on earth! There are some good experienced boatmen here who can take you out sightseeing, fishing, or whatever. But please, these are good honest people living here - if you are a snobby tourist who wants to be entertained and catered too, please don’t go here, you’ll ruin it. Go to Cancun and shop at Walmart instead.
