Return to Black Mountain

Our family vacationed many times in Black Mountain when our oldest grandchildren were young. Our oldest daughter wanted to take her family back and see how Black Mountain was doing, so we booked this beautiful home. It was very clean, and there was a nice "welcome" basket. Plenty of parking, access to hiking trails, gated community, quiet. This large house allowed couples to have a private bedroom and bath but still be together as a group. The hot tub was enjoyed by many of us. Plenty of TV's and well-stocked kitchen, including dish towels, dishwasher pods, dish detergent and more. Shampoo, conditioner, hair dryers, soap, towels and toilet paper were provided, as were sheets. Great vacation home!

Beautiful Home!

I can’t say enough wonderful things about this stay! We chose the home as a halfway point between Cleveland and St. Augustine to meet up for a fun and relaxing weekend with our five adult children and spouses. Jason & Rhonda thought of everything from the welcome basket to the little extras all over the home; it had everything that we could possibly need. The home gave us the space to gather and the space to have some quiet time. The home was exceptionally clean and organized (I appreciate the labels!). Our hosts were excellent in communication and we can’t thank them enough for their hospitality! Thanks again for sharing your home with our family! We had a wonderful & memorable weekend!!!

Perfect Property for Reunion of Friends

We were a group of friends who had not seen each other in years. We needed a place that would provide hotel-like accommodations (each couple with their own bathroom) in a quiet area where we could relax and reconnect. This house was perfect for us. The number of bedrooms and bathrooms was exactly what we needed. We had areas to gather and chat, to play, to eat, and have a great time together. And areas to have some privacy. Unfortunately, we had a lot of rain the week we were there so we did not get to take full advantage of the wrap around deck. Overall, the property was clean and we had a wonderful time. On those rainy days, some ventured into downtown Black Mountain or into Asheville. The house is close to both. Many thanks to the hosts for providing a wonderful home base for us to have our time together in comfort and ease.

Family vacation

Great property. Private even though in a neighborhood. So nice and quiet! House was great. Each of my adult children's family had their own bed and bath area. Kitchen was well stocked with dishes and utensils. Jason was very kind and responsive. Beds were comfortable. Lots of TVs for when you just needed to be on some downtime. We would definitely recommend this cabin for large groups!

Perfect Family Vacation!

Comet Falls Lodge was the perfect mountain getaway for our family! It’s nestled in the mountains which provides the perfect amount of privacy and is only 20 minutes from the cutest little town (Black Mountain) and another 10 minutes to Ashville. We loved exploring the nearby trails, gathering around the outdoor fireplace at night, and having meals at the incredibly large table that easily fit our family of 12. The cabin was spotless and well stocked for cooking and the hosts were fantastic! I would recommend this perfect place to everyone!

Amazing Rental

Can't say enough good things about this place and the owners. This was the cleanest house we have ever stayed in. The owners communication was great and they made sure we had everything we needed. The house is amazing as well. I highly recommend staying here.

Relaxation and quality family time must!

Well maintained property, clean (and I have high standards). Well stocked with the essentials and then some. Plenty of items to keep busy (or not😜) for all ages. Hosts are very attentive, we had no issues, so there was no need to reach out, but I knew they were available if we did need to communicate with them. Property is very peaceful, we didn’t actually visit the surrounding waterfalls due to the cold weather, but you could go outside and actually hear the falls while still on the property. Would definitely visit again. Also looking into other property(ies) by these hosts for the future.

Wonderful house

Family time with elderly mother/grandmother. We spent our time just enjoying being together. All of us had fun! Amenities were great! We especially enjoyed the hot tub and the large play area with ping pong table. Also the large table for eating was perfect for us all to sit around.

Comet Falls Lodge is probably one of the best appointed cabins anywhere in the North Carolina Mountains. It is an easy and scenic drive through the Gated Community with well maintained paved roads all the way up to the paved driveway of the cabin. The cabin appears to have been designed from the ground-up to have a very flexible floor plan that can accommodate almost any type group. Inside everything was so clean and sanitized, it seemed as if we were the first to ever rent the cabin. The Owners seem to have thought of all the things people wish for, and then added in a few things people may forget. Being only 20 minutes from the beautiful town of Black Mountain, with some of our favorite restaurants and shopping, was just a bonus. The hiking trails in the community had many scenic locations including waterfalls. The Owners made sure we knew they were accessible if we had any questions or needs. I would easily recommend this cabin as one of the best for a group gathering anywhere near Black Mountain.

Excellent Stay!

Our family of 10 adults and one 2-year old stayed Thanksgiving week and if it was available next year, we would re-book! We've rented luxury homes during this time for over 25 years and this one is top of the list. It was super clean and was very well stocked with ample supplies of the basics- toilet paper, paper towels, garbage bags, kitchen soaps and hand soaps in all baths, firewood, etc. The open layout for main floor was terrific and spacious and having 2 masters on that level was a plus. The huge kitchen table was also a treat. The two upstairs masters were able to close off their area from below with French doors for added quiet time, which you don't often find with lofts, so extra props for that! The paved circular drive was so convenient for all of our vehicles and helped keep debris from the house. The deck furnishings are top of the line, as are the interior furnishings. It sits alone at the end of the drive, at least for now, which really added to the privacy and cut down road noise and fear of our little one getting in the road. We did enjoy touring the neighborhood, but didn't go hiking this year. Like I said, if it was available, it would be the first home we considered rebooking in 25 years!

October Wedding Activities - 27 Sept - 4 Oct

We had 9 adults and 6 children (ages 3-11), all from Florida, staying at Comet Falls Lodge to attend the wedding of one of my daughters at a nearby venue. The lodge is very private, spacious, very clean and furnishings are well appointed, providing ample seating, storage and sleeping area, but leaving plenty of open space to move around. Several meals were prepared in the well equipped kitchen including a dinner for 17 adults and 9 children. On this occasion we had nine vehicles parked in the lodge driveway with space for several more. The deck was a popular spot for early risers and in the evenings the fireplace on the deck was a favorite spot for making s’mores. The starter logs and wood provided by the host were much appreciated. The experience of the hosts and their attention to detail is reflected in the well thought out design of the lodge, the great condition in which it is maintained, how well stocked it is with things such as linens, towels, and toilet paper, the comprehensive lodge handbook and the amenities they have provided. The welcome basket was a nice touch and quickly emptied when the kids discovered it. The area is beautiful with even the groom and his family, who are from southern Germany, commenting how much they liked the area and the lodge. One of my daughters, who is not fond of traveling, enjoyed the visit so much that she suggested we should consider visiting here every year. You have to know her to understand what a compliment that is!

Friends for 50+ years

Wonderful cabin in the woods…the bedrooms are all suites, and perfect for our friends reunion. Very large dining table for eating, sharing and reminiscing. Three common areas for different activities. Lovely home, and attentive owners.

Private mountain getaway

Spent weekend at house and everything was wonderful. The house is in a gated community, very private and quiet. A great place to reconnect with friends. We were a group of 4 couples each had their private bedroom and bath. House was clean and had everything we needed. Would highly recommend staying here. Cant be beat. Would definately stay again. You wont be disappointed if staying here. Hosts kept in contact , checking if we needed anything.
