Hopeland has long been one of my favorite hotels in the area, but this was the first time i used it as a couple, for an extended stay and during high season.
We ran into the usual "old" snags, the AC broke 3 times in 2 weeks. The toilet got backed up nearly as much, but the problems got fixed fairly quickly.
My main concerns was that my usual rate was unavailable, and i had to oay significantly more than usual, and probably more than the hotel is worth paying, and number/types of rooms available via hotels.com was limited. The smaller atandard room, is much less comfortable, when you need room for all your stuff, for weeks. It just gets cluttered, spacewise.
When crowded, this hotel itself feels small. There is little room at the pool for more than 2 families, or even one, if you want a little shade. The lobby and restaurant quickly fills up, and that feeling of exclusivity goes away.
I would atill use Hopeland again, but probably try to avoid lunar new year instead. And given the level of noise coming from nearby construction, i would probably try to wait until that is done too, but this is a very common problem in Bangkok.
