Wonderful Stay at Reel Life

This was a wonderfully maintained property in a gorgeous location. The host was great to work with, and I would definitely rent this property again. We had a great vacation!

We stayed for Thanksgiving! The kitchen was very well outfitted. We had everything we needed! We loved the comfortable beds, updated bathrooms, and outdoor spaces. The firepit and backyard swing were great fun. The carts were in wonderful shape for getting around the island. Thanks to the property management company for making everything so easy.

Spring break at BHI

We had a great time at Reel Life! We had never stayed in East Beach before. House is beautiful, with many nice amenities. Easy walk or bike to beach and Shoals Club. Would definitely stay here again!

Relaxing & Peaceful

We had a relaxing and peaceful Christmas week at the Reel Life. It was a very short walk each morning to the beach and a quick golf cart ride for coffee afterwards. The house is a great set-up to just relax and enjoy the island.

Perfect family vacation

My family of 4+dog had the best time in Ryan & Ashley’s home. It was perfectly located and well stocked with kitchen supplies, beach gear/towel, and kids games/activities. Ryan and Ashley were wonderful to work with. They were gracious and understanding with me when I made a booking error. Will definitely be back!

Perfect Location

From the moment you enter the inviting front porch, Reel Life doesn't disappoint. The location is perfect, close to the East Beach, Mike's, the Turtle Conservancy, and Federal Road. The inside is serene and comfortable with everything you may need. While we did not need it for our stay, there is a quaint sleeping loft upstairs which is a nice bonus! You also have peace of mind knowing it's a Wendy Wilmot property, which ensures if anything does come up it will be handled!

Wonderful Bald Head getaway

We enjoyed our time at The Nest. Great location on a quiet street! Our kids enjoyed the game closet. We enjoyed the expansive porches. Overall the house was well-stocked, would have been nice to have another set of silverware in the house. The owner was very responsive and when we had a small issue, sent someone over immediately.

Paradise

The house and location were great! Fully stocked with toys and entertainment for the kids, including lots of bikes and scooters which was amazing. We loved rocking on the front porch. Golf carts were great. One golf cart is a convertible FYI and needs to be covered outside. Super close to the beach, mikes bites and shoals club. The outdoor and screened in porch furniture could use a power washing, but didn’t impact our stay.

Summer stay

This is a great home and amazingly stocked!!! We have been to BHI many times and stayed in many homes. This is a favorite. Very clean, great floor plan and kitchen. Carts are new and there are usable bikes, beach towels, beach chairs, etc. so super helpful. My only suggestions are a table to eat at in the screened porch and/or outside and the auto lighter on the grill did not work. Great location and we had an amazing time! Very easy company to rent from and really responsive.

Great Property!

Excellent BHI home for a family! The property was spotless upon arrival, the kitchen well stocked and all rooms had extremely comfortable beds and pillows. The location is top notch - we love East Beach! We appreciated the map provided upon arrival - a nice welcoming item since we are traveling in from out of town. The only drawback was the home was not acutally fenced in - it was fenced, but not fenced in for our furry family member. Ultimately, not a huge deal as our dog stayed with us most of the time.

Several Issues, Could Have Been Better

Three grills and all dysfunctional. 2nd golf cart has no windshield/roof. Thats fine for a personal cart but not for a rental when you have a family of 5 and have no choice but to use that cart to go out as a group. HVAC two zone is not set up properly. So hot on second floor slept on the couch. Won't rent that house again.

First Time on Bald Head Island

This island pace was relaxed and refreshing. The property was nice, but a bit unkept. We had to wash the duvet cover in the master bedroom our first night because it was dirty. We also had to wash the blankets in the living room before using them. The outdoor space was weedy and unkept with lots of spider webs / cobwebs so we didn’t really enjoy the outdoor spaces. The golf carts were nice and clean, but the power was low on both of them and we had to let others on the road pass us constantly because they were easily overtaking us. Lightbulbs in key locations like over the dining room table were out and need replacing.

We found this cottage super clean, updated and very comfortable.

How lovely to find a pet friendly rental that was sparkling clean. The Decour was fresh and updated, the kitchen was very organized and well stocked, and all in all the house was wonderful. There is a lot of attention to detail. I would highly recommend this rental.

Cozy and Relaxing House Nestled Among the Trees

Nice home with nearly everything you could want during a stay. Pros - well stocked kitchen, kids toys, 2 nice golf carts, smart TV's in multiple locations, multiple grills, great porch space & furniture, nice bathrooms, plenty of beach gear, coolest upstairs bedroom loft area. Cons - some areas could benefit from a deep clean such as shower heads and cabinet area around trash can, bikes are in poor condition and some not operable, HVAC unit is directly outside of the downstairs queen bedroom and can be noise at night.

great spot!

We're longtime bald head vacationers and this house was excellent! Very thoughtful -- for example, every time you'd look for a hook, it would be there for your towel. Beds were comfy, yard was great for our dogs. Even though this neighborhood is one of the denser ones on the island, this house was very quiet. Great location for easy trips to the beach! I also lost a golf cart key a few days in, and the owner helped me replace it within 24 hours so we didn't miss a beat of our vacation. Will be back!

Our Impressions

Overall House is in a Great Location. Property did not provide any Dishwasher or Laundry Supplies. Icemaker kept freezing up and Oven was temperamental. Cart Storage situation was cumbersome at best. Yard could use some tending and not a real fan of the Roaches in the Master Bedroom & Bath.

Loved our stay!

We had a wonderful stay at this house over Spring Break. We rented this house 7 years ago, and it is just as beautiful and clean now as it was then! Communication from the owners was thorough and great. The house was fully stocked with everything we needed, and we especially appreciated the first aid kit when our daughter took a bad spill on her bike! We will definitely rent from you again.

Great Location

Great location close to beach and amenities. Shoals club was nice if you don't like hauling your beach gear (they will set up chairs and umbrellas for you). If you have smaller kids the house provides a lot of the stuff you need. House is three bedrooms with a bonus loft with a bed.

Wonderful visit!

We truly enjoyed our stay at this lovely home on Bald Head Island! The home was well equipped, clean and having our black lab with us made the walks on the beach very enjoyable. I hope to return to this home as it was peaceful, private and well appointed. Communication with the owner was easy, prompt and helpful. We did not utilize the Shoals Club membership but hope to.do so another time. Many thanks for a very relaxing vacation!
