our experience with this property and host was extremely disappointing, and we would not recommend staying here.the host directed us to a third-party payment site to pay an environmental tax that was not clearly disclosed in the listing. after our stay, our card was also charged for alleged damages that we dispute.on the first day of our stay, we notified the host about an already damaged door and also reported that the property was missing basic necessities, including knives, paper towels, dish soap, and dishwasher detergent. during our stay, the door ultimately shattered, creating an unsafe situation that required us to evacuate the property.unfortunately, the host was difficult to reach and did not respond in a timely manner, particularly during this emergency. we were disappointed by the lack of communication and assistance throughout the stay.the property itself was otherwise clean enough and is located in a pleasant neighborhood just outside athens, approximately 30 minutes away. however, the safety issue, lack of responsiveness, and subsequent disputed charge overshadowed those positives.based on our experience, we would not stay at this property again.
