For a large group, the house is workable. With 7 bedrooms and multiple common areas, 10–14 guests can fit comfortably. The kitchen is spacious, and the location is convenient: a short walk to the King George pub and a quick Uber to a large Tesco.But, serious maintenance, cleanliness, and communication issues overshadowed those positives.We requested early check-in and were told cleaning required the full five-hour turnaround. On our first morning, we found a pan put away with food crusted inside. Later, 5 dinner plates were dirty and had clearly been replaced without washing. We checked further and found utensils also stored covered in food. We reported this twice; after the first message we got “Thanks, I’ll let our team know,” and then no follow-up.That same morning, one member of our group was trapped in his bedroom overnight when the doorknob came off in his hand because the internal bolt was missing. He had to force the latch with a credit card to get out. We reported this as well and were told, “I’ll get back to you,” but no one came and no follow-up happened.There were also no paper towels or dish soap, limited toilet paper, patchy Wi-Fi, overgrown grounds with garbage in the bushes, and a poorly maintained game room with unusable darts, damaged pool cues, and an unstable pool table.Problems can happen anywhere. What matters is how they're handled- here, issues of safety and cleanliness were not addressed at all. We paid premium for luxury. We did not get it.
