Ideal stay for Winchester or just a relaxing trip. The hotel is quite spread out so if disabled or can’t walk far I suggest asking for a room close to reception. Maintenance staff were fantastic. Cleaning staff great. Bar staff friendly. Highly recommend. Definitely going back.

Waited 45 minutes for an afternoon tea that was pre booked- had to chase up 3 times. No communication or care from the staff. Also had to wait similar time for dinner- it was chaotic with no apparent system. Lots of untrained new staff by the looks of it. Food was actually nice when it came but it was stressful getting it. However maintenance guy was extremely efficient attending our room and resolving an issue for us. Think this should be a 3 star hotel.

The room was clean but noisy as it was near the fitness centre. Could hear people walking past and talking etc, however mostly stopped after 7.30pm when centre closed. Bar staff were super friendly and helpful. Had very late breakfast (after 10am) and still lots of food.

We have stayed here many times before and always enjoyed our stay. However this time when we checked in there was a power cut and we were informed that they were hoping for it to be restored at any time. 2hrs later still no power and no lights or running water in the rooms. Reception staff offered us a refund and to be sent to another hotel but we refused as the hotel suggested was a half hour drive in rush hour traffic and they couldn’t guarantee a room for us. So we stayed as my partner had chosen this hotel for the amenities even though we were unable to use them. Another couple who did decide to leave told us that power cuts have happened before at this hotel . Thankfully the bar staff let us know that the power was back on around 8:30 pm,so we could at least shower before bed. The room was nice but very stuffy even though we opened the windows we struggled to sleep both nights. Food was tasty but lukewarm.
