This is a very sophisticated, upscale hotel with modern furnishings that is in walking distance to the Washington monuments and museums. The room was quiet and extremely clean. However, breakfast is not included and valet parking is a staggering $65 per day. That said, I felt that the room price was a reasonably good value, just park elsewhere.

A nice short stay

It was my first time to DC and I picked this hotel due to its proximity to my office. It came out the hotel is nice and clean. Good breakfast served in the bistro. Also it's short walk to White House and the town center for shopping. It's close to blue metro line and is easy to commu to museums. I will stay here again next time here.

Not Bad but Not Great

Pros: Location, free wifi,
Hotel Staff is very friendly as most hotels are. Building was conveniently located for all the tourist attractions as the white house is right around the corner. I purchased a room with a city view. The view was of a dumpster in an alley and the rooms on the other side of a U shaped building. Not appealing at all. Not worth the extra money. Nice mini bar and they claim to restock it everyday. I was there 3 days and it did not get restocked once. It does not have a bar with a tv if you like to get a cocktail and watch news or game while wife or kids get ready. Not a deal breaker but good to know. If you like a shower with water pressure this is not the place. Trickling rain effect with luke warm water just didnt cut it for me. I dont know if it was because it was very cold out but the water never got hot the way I like it. My daughter likes hot baths and they did have a tub so thats nice but I do not think it was cleaned at all while we were there. Hair was still in tub when we got back from sightseeing. I paid like $55 extra a night for free breakfast. What they dont tell you is that it only includes breakfast for one and its only $28 value even though they know you have a guest. Math didnt add up. All in all nice hotel but not worth the money in my opinion.

Pros: Location
Cons: Housekeeping. Also had to ask for an in-room coffee machine and then every day to ask for more coffee and cups
Location was perfect. Staff said all the right things but didn't follow through. Had lots of difficulty getting the room cleaned ...maybe because we didn't leave early but even when we mentioned to staff that we were going out and wanted it cleaned within next few hours, it was not done. We expect a hotel of this caliber to work around our schedule - not theirs. We stayed in Sofitel Paris and thought it was fabulous. Disappointed with this one

The Hotel Staff was very kind and helpful.

Pros: Comfy and quiet and clean.
Cons: I like a real door on a bathroom, not a sliding door.
Location: Mostly a business area but easy to walk a few blocks to the monuments and White House.
The Hotel was nicely located in DC and you could walk to everything. The room was very clean and comfortable. The staff was very attentive. The young lady that came to turn our bed down at night didn't understand that we wanted an extra blanket, but it was okay. I would caution the breakfast is super expensive, so I would plan to go elsewhere. Additionally Sunday night in that business section of town will have fewer food choices available as they cater to the work week customers. The concierge did get us an earlier reservation at a local steak house that was delicious.

Great place to stay close to the White House!

We stayed at Sofitel in downtown DC for the weekend and really enjoyed it. The room was very updated and comfortable with a large flat screen tv and Bose music. Room service was good (a bit expensive, but it is DC). The location is perfect for sightseeing and good restaurants. Very close to Metro.

Don't order room service

Room service over billed me. I ordered $25 worth of food and was billed $50. I ordered the same thing the next day for lunch in their restaurant and it was just under $30, including tip.
