Great location but shows signs of wear

Pros: See above
Cons: See above
Location: Great location for a hotel. Check out Second Story Books, Zorba's Cafe for a great meal, Rock Creek Park for a good run, etc.
I stayed at this hotel yrs ago. It was an excellent hotel then. Recently, I came back with kids in tow. The staff was very nice and professional in welcoming us. The room was tidy, and quiet during night hours. The negatives (which has nothing to do with staff) - the hotel shows significant wear. (1) The shower head emitted high-pitched sound when on; it goes for the other rooms next to us because I hear the same high-pitch noise somewhere else. (2) The room carpet feels uncomfortably grimy; it probably needs a thorough steam cleaning. (3) An alarm went off on Sunday at 9 a.m. and stopped after 5 minutes, then no other announcements were made. Obviously, it was false because I would otherwise be writing a different review. (4) Two of our hotel key cards stopped working although they were kept by two different people in different wallets. Explanation from staff was that it may have been demagnetized in our wallets. Okay, I've been to hundreds of hotels and I've never had that happen. It may have been an IT issue, but of course the staff wouldn't give that reason. (5) Be aware too that the hotel charges $30 for amenities fee on top of your hotel charges. I was told that the $30 fee is for the use of free wifi and for the wine cocktail hours in the late afternoon. I was not given the option to opt-out of those "amenities" so I think you have to specifically ask when you check in. (6) Lastly, if you have small children, this hotel offers no step stool for kids to reach the sink.

Super hotel, great location.

Pros: Decor and location
Cons: Ice machine on 7th floor
Location: Lots of restaurants, close to metro connecting to the sites of DC
Not your usual hotel. Decor was fresh and exciting. Room was comfortable including good desk workspace and large television with all the channels. Friendly staff that checked daily if you needed anything. Great wine happy hour. Definitely will stay again when in town for business or pleasure.

Woeful service!!!!

Arrived at 11 pm, waited 20 minutes to get a room with terrible view. 2 out of 5 nights, the room was cleaned. On the 4th day the fire alarm went off and We went out , in our pijama and costs to the freezing cold. At night, no hot water and no heating. Terrible service. Our vacation was ruined!!!

Clean, Convenient Hotel for Citi Open Tennis

Pros: Clean and nice neighborhood
I was looking for a clean, nice hotel in dc for the citi open tennis tournament. It was very convenient to both the train station and to the tennis venue, about 3 miles. We arrived at noon and got a room right away, which was a huge plus. The room was very clean, comfortable and quiet. I would go back and definitely stay again next year.

Great hotel close to major conveniences

This is one of our favorite hotels in DC. It is convenient to the Metro, close to Georgetown and not too far from DCA. The room sizes are more than adequate. We always travel with one or two older children, so adding an extra bed was no problem. The staff is very friendly and responsive. It also has a nice workout area with nicely updated equipment and good space...not crammed like so many city hotels.

Great find!!!

Pros: This is a great hotel with huge rooms, and they make amazing homemade pasta. Plus they have a free happy hour in the lobby and the decor is modern.
Location: Right in the heart of DC 2 blocks from Dupont Circle and the Metro.
My wife and I stayed here for 2 days during the winter and it was perfect. Cool hotel, great restaurant and perfect location.

Girls trip to DC museums

Looks great, lots of bachlorette parties and people in their late 20s. Hotel was really hip, in a nice location with lots of places to eat. A 20 minute walk to the Lincoln memorial. We had a room of 4 girls and they charged us a supplemental fee of $30 per night, yet gave us no extra towels (only three), soap, robes, etc. They were really busy so if you needed anything (soap, towel, shower cap) it took 30 minutes. And no cable. I loved there were so many dogs staying there, and they had treats for them at the front desk.
