Pros: Great beds/breakfast/staff/cleanliness/near Chinatown if you're interested in seeing this, near convention center is that suits your needs.
Cons: Minimal load/unload valet (no other choice) parking strip when there's a seemingly unused giant loop driveway around the corner. Use city parking lot!
Location: Near Trolley tour ticket stand, Ford Theater, a 10/15-min. walk to Penn Ave/National Mall, good restaurants around, edge of Chinatown, safe walking :)
I was looking for a hotel close to the Pennsylvania Ave/National Mall - local maps are deceiving how close this hotel may be to downtown (not far though) - other hotels are closer but may be more $. Nonetheless - BEDS ARE OUTSTANDING for a comfy night's sleep before hours'-long sightseeing D.C.. COMPLEMENTARY BREAKFAST is well above average/doesn't disappoint: eggs, potatoes, breads/muffins, waffles w/ whipped cream, etc. Too much to see in town, we didn't use/see the pool/hot tub. Quiet location. $$ SAVING PARKING ADVICE - park at local parking lot one block away (5th and K street) - total cost for our car was $30 for 9 p.m. to 9 p.m. the next day instead of $49/day at hotel. BIG $ SAVER tip from super hotel staff! Would like to try another hotel a little closer to Pennsylvania Avenue next time but this is a sure bet for your money.

Great hotel for the price.

Cons: Breakfast and elevators accommodation when hotel is full.
You get what you pay for - for the lower price you get a hotel that isn't really a walking distance from the mall (more than 20 minutes). It's past Chinatown, a few homeless people hanging around, not great when you're walking around with kids. Hotel itself was packed and neither the breakfast nor the elevators could handle the crowd. Bottom line - for $92 dollars a night and a free breakfast in a Hampton Inn, it's a great deal.

Experiencing Washington, DC

Delicious free hot breakfast, location near metro, but can walk to DC sites along mall. Experience variety of people in the area. Pool, spa, fitness center, and lounge on premise.

aging hotel in a mediocre location

Pros: food, maidservice
Cons: give safe alternative parking that is less expensive
Location: China town restaurants and businesses, the Verizon center, the Newseum.
It was an aging hotel, although updated, it was in a sketchy part of town. There was no option to self park in the hotel lot, and parking was expensive. The staff at the front desk consisted of aloof young men too cool for their own good. The parking attendants were pretty helpful and personable, though. The food for breakfast was good. It was a short walk to china town restaurants. However, there is a park right near the hotel with some scary homeless people. I did not feel safe staying there with my family.

Nice Hotel and location

Pros: Staff was great, free breakfast, nice large room and comfy bed. The pool and hot tub were nice after a long day of walking.
Location: The hotel was close to bus stop and shopping.
The entire staff was excellent especially the Bellman desk. The gentlemen working there helped me with everything. They made reservations for the bus tour and called for a pickup for me. They were great. We were able to get in our room a little early and we were right next to the nice indoor pool which was very handy for us. The housekeeper we had was very nice and did an excellent job on our room. The free breakfast was also very good with a good variety of food and drinks. We would stay there again.

Needs work.

Pros: The Breakfast and the proximity to the area attractions, everything is with in a 15 to 20 min walk,
Cons: The room mechanics, the facility upkeep"POOL" primarily,
I stayed in a King bed room with sofabed. the air condition was real noisy and had trouble sleeping. also the toilet got stuck and was running water all night. the room wasn't super clean. had a soap film on the counter tops. The continental breakfast was very good and the staff were nice. I dont usually complain however this wasn't a cheep room in a cheep hotel .. the worst for me was the swimming pool . not very clean and the water was so out of balance my eyes were burning as soon as I got in. I will try somewhere els next time I go to DC.
