hotel front desk lady charged us a random number for hotel price + deposit, which is fine, but she's not very patient with explaining to us the reasons and how much we are getting back as refund... room was not cleaned the second day, and when we call the front desk to inform them, she said "I don't know"... location is great. if you don't care about interaction with hotel staff, sure...

Good location

Posted Jul 7, 2016
Pros: Location, rate on Travelocity.
Cons: $12/wifi. Really didn't like that. There's a Starbucks nearby if you need wifi.
Location: Easy walk to the White House.
Stayed here for a 4-night trip to DC. Nice location. Easy to walk to the White House. I used Uber to get around to many localities. Overall, the stay was good.

Great hotel, friendly staff, close to everything!

Posted Jul 3, 2016
My husband and I stayed at the Beacon the last week in June and it was fantastic. We drove in and were immediately greeted by a very friendly doorman and porter. Our bags were unloaded and our car was taken to the garage. Because we were early, the staff held our bags for us in a locked closet and even offered us a room at that early time, but we waited because we wanted a king bed. We walked to the Metro station (less than 10 minutes) and headed down to the National Gallery. When we returned, our room was ready- a top floor corner room (I had requested privacy)- and the porter retrieved our bags and up we went. The room was fantastic. Very modern, plenty of closet/drawer space, clean, updated bathroom, etc. I was pleasantly surprised because I had read some reviews that mentioned the rooms needed "TLC" and updating. Ours was really nice. The air conditioner cooled the room to the point that we had to turn it down because we were getting too cold (!)- it was great. Housekeeping did a great job and the room was perfect each night when we returned. The first night we decided to eat in the hotel restaurant. It was really good- above average! One other night we hit the hotel bar for happy hour before going out to dinner and had several drinks while chatting with Richard, the bartender. Great guy. We walked up to the rooftop bar to check it out one evening, but it had just rained and the tables were wet so we didn't stay, but there is a great view up there. Our last day there w

Pros: Close walking to DuPont Circle and embassy row.
Cons: everything was fine
Location: White House was nice. OAS Art Museum is very interesting.
Nice hotel. We stayed 5 nights. We were out and about so much, we didn't spend too much time in the hotel. But, it is nice.

Thank you for staying at the Beacon Hotel and sharing about your stay with us. Our location is one of many things that guests love about us. We are walking distance to many attractions and transportation. We may be a bit biased in saying this but DC has some of the greatest art museums, many that are free! We're glad your conference brought you here and we look forward to your next reason to bring you back.

Great place to stay

Posted Dec 28, 2015
Location: bars, restaurants and stores a block or two away on Connecticut Ave or 14th street. metro stops a few blocks away.
Spent a few nights here in mid-December. The room was nice, had a good view, and the bed was really comfortable. Hotel is in a great location...just a few blocks to either the Dupont Circle or Farragutt North metro stops, as well as a block or two from Connecticut Ave or 14th Street (with all sorts of bars and restaurants). Staff was very friendly. Would definitely stay there again.

Great hotel, Great staff, Great location

Posted Jul 13, 2015
Pros: Nice staff, location, the kitchen in the room
Location: The church where JFK's funeral was held is .1 of a mile from hotel. White House is 15 minutes away, The National Geographic Museum is 10 minutes away.
I love this hotel. The room was a bit small, but we had everything we needed. We got a suite, and were able to save a ton of money because we cooked meals in the room instead of eating out. The staff was so nice to us. The hotel is in a really great location. You can walk to the White House in 15 minutes. The price of parking is high, but the convenience of parking it at the hotel for the entire week, and using the Metro-rail, was worth the price to us. Driving around D.C. is no joke. All in all, a great week!

Very convenient location

Posted Sep 16, 2013
The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was as ordered with two beds, quiet at the end of the corridor and ready for occupancy when we arrived at 3pm. The beds were comfortable and everything was fresh and clean though the bathroom could have been a bit larger with more counter space. We ate in the dining room and the food was very tasty and not over priced. The table staff were a bit inexperienced but very anxious to please. The roof top bar is an oasis away from the street with a fountain playing great spot for the younger crowd later on in the evening. There should be a card with instructions for the TV stations available and the air conditioning was rather noisy .I would happily stay there again. It was a short walk to the Metro and there were a few other places of interest in the vicinity of the hotel. Construction is something one has to live with in any large city so does not bother me. I prefer smaller hotels to the larger chains.
