A true Costa Rican hideaway

This place was marvelous. It’s even better than the pictures make it look. Don’t hesitate. Book now. It’s be a yearly retreat for us if we didn’t have to pay for airfare to Costa Rica too. The manager lives next door and is super helpful as she understands the area well, and even runs her own coffee shop down the road from the house. If you rent a vehicle, make sure to get a 4x4. We went in the rainy season, and in addition to navigating potholes everywhere (not on the property, but on the roads leading to it), we had to drive through a lot of mud and even water rushing over the road in some parts. Don’t let that hold you back though. The property is beautiful, and on some days you’ll struggle to choose between staying at the house vs. going to the beach.

Family and Friends Vacation

Stayed between Dec. 27, 2023 and Jan. 4 2024. 2 families of 5 each. Where to start, overall it was a great stay and vacation. The place was amazing and better then in the pictures and description. The place is super clean, has all amenities, secluded yet close to the beach with a super nice pool. The best part and the main differentiator about our stay, was was Marina, the house manager. She is amazing, talented and always available. She was super helpful, set us up with any reservations, or other needs. Ah and did I mentioned she have a super nice restaurant with the best smashed burgers on plant earth! And a coffee shop next door with great coffee and delicious breakfast selection. And you have to try her home made granola!! Yummy! Thank you so much Marina! We will definitely come back.

Relaxing outdoor AND indoor living

This property is the perfect indoor/outdoor living. Bedrooms/bathrooms are very private and cool with air conditioning. The living area is inside but feels like outdoors with all the sliding doors open. It’s very private with the lovely, kind and giving host next door to help you with anything you need. It was extremely clean as a cleaner comes every other day. It has a great sound/speaker to Bluetooth into and play your favorite music with amazing sound. The driveway is long and gated but the little town of Playa Negra would never make you feel unsafe. The people we met were so kind! I would give this property a 10/10 especially with the howler monkeys you hear and see in the morning!

Repeat visit even better

We loved our first visit to this lovely property so much we returned for a second Thanksgiving, this time bringing our oldest son and my adult brother. The villa readily accommodated our group of six. Marina again arranged for seamless check in and check out processes,culinary delights and unique adventures in the beautiful surrounding area. See you next year, Los Pargos!

Amazing location and a wonderful stay!

We absolutely loved our stay. We all agreed the home was even nicer in person. The host was excellent and we couldn’t be heading home more refreshed. Even though the house isn’t right on the beach we loved coming back to the pool nestled in it’s beautiful jungle like setting. This house was perfect for two families. We are sad to leave and definitely already thinking about when we can come back. Going to miss waking up at this beautiful property.

Sweet Escape

Beautiful property nestled in Playa Negra. My family enjoyed relaxing at the house and the local dining and activities. The members of my family ranged from 66 to 7 and all enjoyed the house and area. Marina is an amazing host!!! I can’t say enough about her gracious hospitality, knowledge of the Playa Negra (dining, activities, etc) and the neighboring towns. You must try her Corazon coffee!

relaxing stay in Los Pargos

The house is beautiful. Love the open design plan. Four bedrooms each with its own bathroom gave each of our couples ample room and privacy. The pool was perfect for the heat of the afternoon. Communication for arrival and any issues or information was quick and helpful. At dawn and dusk we were greeted by the calls of the howler monkeys--one day we were able to see them traveling through the trees on the edge of the property. Wish we had more time to spend there, it was peaceful, invigorating, and luxurious. Definitely recommend it to all.

Fabulous!!

What an unreal place!! Everything was perfect and better than the photos (and the photos are beautiful!). We stayed here with our 3 small children and another family and it was exactly what we needed and more. The home and host (Marina) exceeded our expectations. The home is beautiful and thoughtfully designed - all amenities available, including laundry! Each bedroom has its own ensuite - all beautiful. The master bedrooms (2) are dreamy - spacious and luxurious. We LOVED the design of the home. The front and back walls open completely to let nature in. Perfect indoor/outdoor living. The pool is a unique design and suites the home perfectly. You feel very secluded tucked away off the main road. Close to the beach and small town of Playa Negra - however a car is definitely needed. Our host Marina - made the trip extra special. She was very accessible however gave us our space and privacy. Full of knowledge of the area and a wonderful person - thank you for everything Marina! We will definitely be back again - our favourite home in Costa Rica thus far!

PARADISE FOUND!!

We feel so lucky to have found this unique and special place. Our family stayed here for Thanksgiving 2022 and fell in love. Amazing nature viewing, welcoming and fun people, extraordinary food- we didn't want to leave. The keys to the experience were the outstanding house managers Marina and Dani who helped to coordinate everything from having a chef-prepared meal when we arrived the first night, to a catamaran tour where we saw groups of rays and dolphins leap out of the water, to sensational massages in the comfort of the villa. The culinary experience was a particular highlight (my husband loves to cook and is a foodie). Marina connected us with Arnau who is a professionally trained chef from Spain and he prepared dinner for us in the home's kitchen several nights. It was a great experience to relax and chat with him while he cooked and the food was exceptional. My husband and I are both pescatarian while our children are carnivores and he was able to accommodate for everyone. There is also great food in the town with the Villa Duveena and Corazon Surf Cafe being particular standouts. The house itself is immaculate, tastefully decorated and the pool gave the kids a way to keep busy during down times. Pura Vida!

Exactly What We Were Looking For

We just got back from a wonderful stay in Los Pargos. The listing is very accurate, pictures are exact! The home is very well-maintained, and each day someone comes to carefully water the plants or clean the pool or clean the home. What a treat! The hosts are wonderful, kind and helpful. We look forward to coming back to this home away from home in Playa Grande.

AMAZING PROPERTY!!

We came out to Los Pargos to get married. This property couldn't have been a prettier place for our 12-person ceremony. The architecture is amazing, pictures don't do it justice. All four bedrooms have their own showers. The pool was crucial. Our hostess, Marina, lives on-site. She couldn't have been better, always very responsive to our calls or texts. She arranged for us to have fresh breads, croissants, and local artisan cheeses delivered to the house on two different mornings... hignly recommended. The maid service was exceptional. My new wife and I were there for a 12 days and we did not want to leave. We can't wait to come back! Thanks Marina!!
