We booked this cottage for a last-minute family getaway with eight of us. It was a good fit for our needs and budget, and the location was great—walkable to the beach and nearby spots. The listing said three beds and a pull-out couch, but there were actually four real beds, which was a pleasant surprise! Plenty of towels were provided, including some beach towels—though not quite enough for a full house. The kitchen was fairly well stocked, and they provided dish soap, a sponge, and dishwasher pods. The outdoor shower was a nice touch, though it’s hidden in the greenery and easy to miss. Some quirks to note: the front door lock was very finicky. The code was long, and the keypad often flashed red midway, making us start over—very frustrating in the rain. We reported it to management. One night, we were lucky someone had stayed behind to let us in.The parking situation was confusing. You're supposed to park on the "north side" (tip: enter from 15th Street, not Jones), but it’s basically a grassy patch with a sign. After heavy rain, it completely flooded—we had ankle-deep water and even got stuck in a 4WD. Gravel would help a lot. There was also a sump pump alarm during the storm and a leaking sunroom window, but both were manageable. Don't run the coffee maker and microwave at the same time—it trips the breaker. And bring your own salt and pepper!Overall, the cottage is a bit dated but met our needs. With a few updates, it could be even better.
