Great location, fun room for kids
We enjoyed the stay, the house has a great location and wonderful sunny upstairs living room and deck. It is a large house. Downstairs bedrooms are dark. There is a wonderful kids room downstairs that our kids and enjoyed. Loved our time in hot tub too. What we didn’t like: the house is pretty bare bones in terms of what the management company provides. We had to buy our own dishwasher soap, and laundry detergent, cooking oil, etc. To be fair we had 4 kids and 3 adults and 3 dishwasher tablets and a few pods of washing detergent weren’t enough for our large group. We recommend this property to others

Lots of neglected maintenance
This place is in a good location and the house has a good layout. That's where the positives end. We have stayed in many vacation rentals and really aren't picky people, but this place was a bit too much even for us! The house was not very clean when we arrived -- laundry unfinished, garbage (that had become moldy) and recycling bags left in the garage, stained towels in the bathroom. We were given incorrect wifi and password and the router was not working. The toilet in the primary bath ran continually and we had to reattach the chain multiple times to get it to flush. We had no Wifi for the first 4 days. The rug in the living room was stained and had glass shards in it (which someone stepped in). The hot tub was quite dirty and there was a vial that had contained weed lying next to it. I called for help multiple times and was clearly speaking to someone far away as they didn't know how to pronounce "Truckee." I also texted in to get help and was told that someone local would be contacting me. Nobody did. The kitchen lacked basics like foil or plastic wrap, and many items in the kitchen were broken. The BBQ was full of burnt food from prior guests and nearly combusted when we cooked something. In short, it's a place that is in need of a deep clean and has a lot of deferred maintenance. Find someplace else to stay!

spacious and well stocked but info needs updating
This house has plenty of room for three couples plus kids. We especially appreciated that three of the bedrooms had king-sized beds so the adults weren't squashed together. The upstairs living area is comfortable and very open and the kitchen is spacious.
We were there during a pretty warm weekend in July, and we knew going in that it didn't have AC (few houses do in Truckee), so we emailed ahead to ask if it had ceiling fans or box fans. The property manager replied that it did not. When we get there, we saw that the living room and primary bedroom did have ceiling fans but we couldn't find any switch in the house or any remote that controlled them so we couldn't turn them on. We brought our own small electric fans and those kept us comfortable enough for sleeping. When we were checking out, we found several box fans in the closets!
The wifi info the property manager gave us was also outdated so we couldn't get online for a while and cell reception is poor. We finally got connected but it kept going in and out. So the house could benefit from a new router or some sort of booster perhaps.
The kitchen was well stocked overall, but inexplicably, there are only like 6 spoons and 4 wine glasses.
The place is comfortable and well kept overall, but these little issues should be addressed to give it 5 stars.

Great Place to Celebrate New Year with Friends
Went there to celebrate New Year with friends. The location is great, only 15 mins away from Northstar Resort and Donner Lake. Quiet neighborhood. Jacuzzi is clean and perfect for the weather. Everything is comfortable and cozy, except found few hairs on beds and the stove is dirty. Overall is great! Thanks for having us.

Perfect for our family
Great cabin for a short weekend get away. Wary of the stairs with young kids but they were really good about walking up and down slowly/holding onto rail. Rail was a little tall for the tots though. Kids loved to “bunk beds” room most.
Would def recommend this home for others.

Beautiful cabin lacking amenities
This property was beautiful and very spacious. The only problem was that it was lacking a lot of basic amenities such as hand soap in every bathroom and a blender. The appliances were also on the used, very low end quality such as the dish washer and toaster oven. Not a lot of extras so bring your own soaps, shampoos etc. It was also a bummer that the hot tub and pool were not available since
they were one of the main reasons we selected this cabin.

Great gem!
Great experience from beginning to end. The pictures do NOT do justice to the reality...so much better. The decor was warm and inviting. The downstairs area was perfect for the 5 teens to “hang out”. The kitchen was well stocked and plenty of linen. Close to downtown and only 4 easy miles to the lake. This is a property I can’t wait to return to. My only regret is that we didn’t book for a longer stay

Nice house, good location. Didn’t like property management company
Overall we enjoyed our stay. Excellent location, and a large house. We loved easy access to the meadow trail, - walking distance, quick drive to everything else, sunny and bright upstairs living room, and front deck. Loved master bath! Lots of space for everyone, and a fun downstairs room for kids.
What we didn’t expect, and what wasn’t in the ad: stairs. Lots of stairs. This house is located at the end of a long upward-sloped driveway. Totally not an issue in the summer, but something to consider if you are renting in the winter. Then there is a long set of steep stairs to get into the house. And inside, there are steep stone stairs between 2 stories. We had 7, 5, and 4 year olds, and a 4 yo ate it on those stairs a couple of times. Nothing major, but might be a better fit for older children.
What we didn’t like: this house is advertised and priced as a house with a hot tub. There are a lot of similar sized and located houses without a hot tub at lower prices. We rented the house WITH a hot tub, and it was a bummer that the hot tub was locked. The explanation said it is per Nevada County regulation. I looked up and regulation recommends no hot tubs in short terms rentals, but as I understand it, it’s not mandatory to shut them down. In any case, it would Have been nice to know, and perhaps reflected in the price. As a renter - you see that these rentals are available, but not necessarily read County guidelines prior to your fun trip.
With booking fees, cleaning fees, taxes, and actual rent our stay came up to be on a higher end. We had 3 adults, 4 kids staying for 5 days. We got a remainder of a paper towel roll that was used by previous renters, 5 individual/ single use dishwasher soap pods, 6 individual soap pods for washing machine, and Walmart quality wine opener that broke corks on all our bottles. Linens and towels have seen their better days too. With 4 children playing we quickly discovered that many areas of the house, and living room couch weren’t cleaned for quite some time. Interesting discoveries between the cushions. Not a huge deal on a grand scheme of things, but at the price point it is at you can expect more. We rent a lot in TDA, and have seen cleaner, better stocked houses. property management company didn’t respond to a single inquiry - we emailed, called, messaged on VRBO and their app, never heard back

golf getaway
Very nice property with a couple of issue's. First we were not allowed to used the hot tub because of the pandemic but there was no mention of that in the listing, this was very important to us as its a prerequisite for where we decide to stay. Because of our age and that golf in the mountains it is taxing on the body it is a necessary requirement, also we were charged a fee for the hot tube. Second the bathroom toilet downstairs was wobbly, just info for maintenance. Lastly the TV channels were not all working and we could not watch a lot of channels, could be user error but not sure FYI. Overall the place was nice clean and close to everything and we would stay there again as this is an annual event.

Would have changed a few things but overall good stay
The house itself was great. Plenty of beds, and comfortable bedding, nice location, and amenities.
Pros-
Lots of space in kids room (tv does not in fact work the way described though)
All beds were comfortable and spacious
Hot tub was clean and a great option for cool evenings.
Cons-
We walked into a dishwasher full of dirty dishes, when we tried to run the dishwasher we noticed there were no dishwasher pods. I contacted the management company and they responded quickly.
- the kitchen is not stocked great. Be prepared to bring your own basic spices, olive oil, etc.
there was not enough silver wear for a larger group, unless you wanted to be constantly hand washing dishes.
There were also only three wine glasses, two of which were cracked and broken. Again this was resolved when we contacted management.
There was one roll of paper towels that was about 75% used so we had to go to the market right away to get more.
There were also only two garbage bags in the house so when checking out we were unable to empty the garbages before leaving.
Having to go to the store or wait for someone to drop off soap is not a huge deal, but highly inconvenient when only spending a short amount of time somewhere. A few easy “stocking” updates and this would have been a perfect stay.

Great Tahoe House
We had a great stay at house. The house is in excellent condition, beautiful remodeled bathrooms and kitchen. The layout is great for two families. Kids' bunk room was huge and great play area and sleep area. Our only problem was the management company did not leave any dishwasher detergent or laundry detergent so we had to buy it. We also found a large bee nest underneath the grill on the front deck, we called the management company and no one came out or contacted us about it for 2 days. (Then we checked-out and told them again.) The house and location are great and conveniently located.

Nice house, poor snow plowing
Our group of 6 adults and a bunch of kids stayed here for a long weekend. We had a horrendous first few hours, but then enjoyed the rest of the stay.
About that first night... Truckee was under a weather warning so we were expecting a slow drive and some snow on the driveway. Upon arrival, there were 3-4 driveways in the vicinity of where Apple & Google Maps told us was the destination. The first driveway (to a lit house) I walked up was not the correct one. I moved down the street (initially skipping past the dark, not-recently-plowed driveway) to the next lit house which was also not correct. So, I went back to the dark, snow-covered driveway that I had passed, trekked past ~3 feet of snow (at the street edge) and through ~1 foot of snow up to the unlit house. Using a flashlight, I could not locate any signage for an address at on the unlit house (no motion lights were present either) but then upon walking up the unlit stairwell I tried the key code and it worked so in this way figured out that it was in fact the correct rental house. Well, fast forward 3 hours of shoveling for 2 adult men, one tow truck (my 4WD SUV got stuck despite our shoveling) and a totally unhelpful call to the management company, we finally were able to settle in.
The house itself was nice, with a cozy common area with wood-burning fireplace for gathering, dining table that fit 10, and adequate kitchen. Two of the bedrooms are well-sized, with the third (double bed) quite tight. The play room with bunk beds was fun for the kids. The heating was responsive (via Nest controller) but very uneven, with some rooms sweltering while others frigid.
Overall, we had a fun time and enjoyed the house. However, my complaint to the management company for at least better signage and lighting as well as better plowing fell on deaf ears.
