Tiny room, great service, terrible location

Pros: The hotel was clean and the staff had more than passable English and were very professional and good with requests.
Cons: Don't advertise amenities unless they are actual hotel services. Knock down some walls and make the rooms bigger. Bigger & more comfortable pillows.
Location: A somewhat sketchy part of Ikebukero with a fairly vibrant nightlife and reasonable walking distance to lots much more respectable shopping areas.
Pros: The hotel was very clean and the staff had decent English language skills and were super polite, diligent, helpful, etc. Cons: The room was tiny, even by Tokyo hotel standards. I'm just barely under 6 ft tall (1.83 m) and in shoes, my head almost scraped the door frames and I hurt myself getting from bed to bathroom more than once. Also, inside the bathroom would have felt an airplane restroom if not for the shower. The hotel is in a terrible location- A hike from the nearest train station and just outside of a fairly sketchy part of Ikebukero where it's easy to get turned around and lost if you don't know the area. There are some useful restaurants and stores nearby but the neighboorhood also has also quite a few love hotels and girl bars and everything that comes with that. Also, the hotel listed massage among the amenities but when I got there, there was just a small placard ad for an outcall massage service placed next to the bed. Given the nature of the neighborhood, I did not partake.
