The room was unusually tiny, even by Tokyo standards: do not bring large suitcases. Ours were of average size and barely fitted under the bed. You'd better really like the smell of cooked mackerel because it is pervasive for most of every morning. Quite a bit of wear and tear, and notable signs of age, but the room was clean. Default room service minimal but you can ask for more. Narrow corridors seemingly permanently crowded with room service items - no room to wheel a suitcase. Good range of basic items provided (slippers, gown, toiletries, etc). Some instant coffee and a kettle. Basic furnishings, no cupboards, just wall hooks. Small but comfortable bed. Tiny bathroom, weak-flushing toilet, toilet roll meagre, basic but functional bidet. Unnecessarily large TV. Good central location, though a few hundred metres from metro stations. Check out at 10am seems far too early but that's not unusual in Japan.
