Parking

Cons: Parking needs to be improved for guest... And the valet was rude the way he told me parking was full.
We have stayed here multiple time but I wouldn't stay here again. I chose this hotel in this location for the safety of my daughter and I. However I was unable to valet park or park in their parking lot. We had to park a block over in a parking garage and walk from our car at midnight. Didn't feel safe at all for 2 females to be walking that far to our hotel room. The valet was also rude in the way he told me the parking was full. Not your typical Hilton greeting that I am use to getting at their hotels.

Really Really Bad

The window to our room overlooked the lobby which was very weird. There were dead roaches on the windowsill which was so gross i cant even explain. Parking was $22 per night, i have never heard of that. We paid $44 in parking!!! I will NEVER stay here again

Traveling on business - Standard downtown hotel

Pros: Close restaurants, first rate staff
Cons: No free Internet
Standard amenities. Comfortable room. Excellent staff from Valet and check-in (complimentary glass of champagne??) to bar, restaurant and front desk. Had noisy neighbor issue that was resolved first trip by security and resulted in complimentary coffee bar tickets and a 2pm checkout. Would not pay that price for leisure travel though.

Nice hotel.

Pros: Close restaurants, Quiet
Cons: No free Internet
Close to the University of Tampa. Good location as my son and I were visiting the campus as a prospective college for him to go to. Staff were very helpful.

This hotel can be very busy

Cons: Nothing close, No free Internet
I have stayed here a few times now. It is a nice hotel but can get very busy and can have problems with the front desk and the elevators. The staff however is very nice and helpful.

Hyatt Regency Tampa

Stayed here prior to cruise. Great hotel, near port of Tampa and channelside district, several good restaurants in walking distance, and a very good restaurant/bar on site. Good food, with reasonable price. Nice pool and workout area. Wonderful beds.

Poor experience

Booked room several months in advance directly through Hyatt not outside travel company and paid for room in advance. Booked room with 2 beds as there were 4 people in room. Arrived at 5pm to check in and they were sold out of double bed rooms. They put us in a single king bed room with a roll-away bed, not what we wanted/reserved. They did not offer to compensate us in any way for this. Valet parking was full so had to park in a city garage a block away, long walk to hotel with luggage. The floor we were on smelled like a dirty baby diaper. The toilet in the bathroom was a very loud turbo flush model that made a lot of noise but did not work well, can't explain, have to experience in person. You could hear surrounding rooms every time they flushed their toilet, very annoying. Breakfast buffet was very overpriced, hot items were cold and very limited in selection. Many homeless people outside hotel that you had to walk through to get to nearby restaurants/shopping and they were very pushy about asking for $ or trying to sell fowers that looked like they were pulled out of a flower garden outside the hotel. As a traveler who travels often for business/pleasure this is the worst hotel experience I have ever had. Will not be staying at this hotel again. Last year I stayed at a Hyatt Place hotel in Atlanta that was one of the best hotel experiences I have had, this hotel needs to check out their Atlanta location and improve all around.

HYATT DOWNTOWN...NOT!

MY WIFE AND I JUST STAYED THERE WEEKEND OF 8/22/08 SO THIS IS VERY CURRENT. HOTEL WAS UNIMPRESSIVE. ONLY ONE RESTARAUNT WHICH WAS VERY POOR. COLD FOOD (HOT ENTREE) FORGETFUL SERVICE, WRONG BILL AND WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO THOSE LEMONS WE ASKED FOR? THE ROOM HAD A PROBLEM WHERE HALF OF THE WATER FLOW CAME OUT OF THE TUB FAUCET AND THE OTHER HALF CAME OUT OF THE SHOWER FAUCET AND WE HAD TWO DIFFERENT KINDS OF BUGS IN THE BED. IT'S NOT THE HOTEL'S FAULT THAT DOWNTOWN TAMPA IS DEAD, I MEAN NO ONE BUT SOME STREET PEOPLE. I THINK THE CITY PLANNERS FORGOT TO BUILD FOR PEOPLE AND NOT JUST LARGE BANKS. IT COULD BE A NICE CITY. OH, TRY STAYING ALONG THE RIVER WALK...MUCH NICER.
