What a great little hotel! It's a little off the main street, so it's quiet and peaceful, but cross the main road, and you'll be right in the heart of the action in Takayama with restaurants, bars, and shops. Parking is quick and easily accessible as well. The hotel is well-appointed and clean, the staff are incredibly welcoming and knowledgeable about the area, and they provided great tips. Highly recommended!

We loved The Ascend, very close to the train station and downtown. The staff was great, shout out to Kumon who was of great help recovering my daughter’s lost backpack. Absolutely recommend it… best stay in Japan!

The hotel is only a block away from Takayama station and is an easy walk to the touristy Old Town. The staff were great and the room was nice. The Onsen was not bad.
