This is my third time staying at the Sydney RiseOn Hotel. The hotel and the staff has always went above and beyond for me, so I'm happy to stay at your hotel again the next time I need to stay in Sydney and again in the future. I also think the location of the hotel is a highlight as it's close to shopping, dining and transportation (Central Station is just down the road) and I love the area of Sydney it’s in.

The budget price may be tempting but you will be staying in a place dirtier than most hostels. The location is amazing, right near Central station. Upon arrival a strong pungent stench of dampness and mould hits you. The smell of damp, a sour garbage smell, stale air and mould was more intense in the room. The furniture and amenities are dated, with little to no care to restore or fix things. The overall room is full of landlord specials- patched up walls, scuffs, non waterproofed shower without a recess, no fan in the bathroom ect. The dirtiness of the room took us aback. Mop/shoe marks on the floor, no scrub down, dust and stained sheets and probably not washed in hot water. The mattress was bedbug free, comfy and looked fresh and new, pillows were comfy. We glen 20 sprayed the room and purchased shower cleaner, however still felt uncomfortable walking around in the room barefoot. The windows are not able to be opened to get reprieve from smellraw was the emergence of German cockroaches at night. The reception is unmanned after 11pm, in the morning I alerted reception, once I had mentioned the cockroaches he immediately stated "no refunds" I explained I was not seeking a refund just a solution to feel more comfortable during my stay. He was so quick to say "no refund" even though I hadn't mentioned it. He's solution was to hand me a bottle of cockroach spray. I understand this is budget accommodation, however stained sheets, dirty floors and cockroaches are unacceptable.

Handy location

Location was excellent, very close to the central station and supermarket. Plenty of bar/restaurants are around. Staff were good she explains everything in the beginning even the bond will take 2-4days to get back. Cleaning service was good. I read recent terrible reviews so we were bit worried to stay here but we had really good comfortable stay. Room was nice n spacious, didnt really here much noise from the street. We enjoyed our stay.

A wonderful discovery in Sydney

Lovely hotel! Staff were helpful, the rooms were kept very clean, facilities were good. Location was excellent, right next to Central station. We found the bathroom layout of our room odd, however, given you have the shower in full view from the bed, so I don't know if this is for guests who aren't comfortable seeing their room companion having a wash!

I didn’t even stay. I got to the reception and was told I needed a physical credit card to check in. I had already paid online however this was a security deposit. I offered to tap however the concierge flat out refused to assist me in any way and became quite rude and aggressive when I asked how we could find a resolution. I was to go withdraw cash or leave! I had to travel 2 hours home and 2 hours back the next day as a result of this terrible customer service for which I am still waiting a refund!
