Stonington Dream Property

We had a wonderful stay at this property. We are a group of 17 and everyone enjoyed the property. This home is far enough away from everything for a quiet stay but close enough if you want to explore. The beds were comfy and the house fit the extended family's needs. Please consider going to the island/beach one day - the sand is soft and you can wade out quite a while before it gets deep. Shelling is great at this beach. We walked to the other side of the island and were greeted by the Atlantic Ocean and a beautiful sand bar. Everyone was very attentive to our needs and questions. We enjoyed dinner on the porch every night (the picnic table was incredible) as well as utilizing the firepit for S'mores once the sun went down. The house is close to grocery stores as well as Mystic.

Getaway with friends

There were 15 of us staying for a little group retreat/peaceful getaway. We probably had the worst weather ever but that did not keep us from having the best time. This house was perfect for us plenty of space to spread out with a beautiful water view. A little modern mixed with ocean cozy and confortable. They offered kayaks a pontoon boat and fishing but because of the weather we were not able to use but they were all there and available. We did use the fire pit when it was not raining and bbq and there was plenty of wood available for us. Everything was clean and the bedrooms were spacious and everyone had a tv except for 2 of the cottages. The cottages felt like a different setting perfect little prices of paradise looking at the water. Lou the property Manager was very attentive. Funny also came right away to tell us about the property gave us his number we really only needed him once and he was there right away. Would def stay here again.

A perfect family getaway in Stonington Connecticut

I recently had the pleasure of spending time at a vacation house in Stonington, Connecticut, and I cannot express enough how fantastic our stay was. This property exceeded all of our expectations and provided our family with a truly memorable experience.From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the stunning water views. The house is perfectly situated to showcase the beauty of the surrounding landscape, and we found ourselves mesmerized by the sunsets over the water each evening. It was the perfect backdrop for family gatherings and made our vacation feel even more special.One of the highlights of the property is its sheer size. With plenty of room for everyone, we never felt cramped or crowded. The spacious layout allowed us to enjoy quality time together while also having the option to find a quiet nook to relax. Perfect Family Reunion Retreat with Breathtaking Views and Unbeatable Location!

From the moment we arrived, we were in awe of this breathtaking property! With 11 beautiful bedrooms across the main house and cottage, our large group had plenty of space to relax. The two full kitchens were perfect for preparing meals, and we loved gathering in the stylish indoor living areas and stunning courtyard, especially around the massive dining table and cozy fire pitt. The location was unbeatable... it is steps from Esker Point Beach and close to Mystic, casinos, and hiking trails. Our kids had a blast fishing and kayaking, while we soaked in the spectacular views from the deck. The seamless blend of privacy and togetherness made this home ideal for our family reunion. Every detail was thoughtfully curated, ensuring comfort and convenience. We absolutely LOVED it!! The hosts were incredibly accommodating, making check-in so easy. We truly felt at home and can’t wait to return. This is a real gem and we will definitly be returning!!!!

Misleading description of property and disappointed

Renters beware - Property is not listed as described. We had a family of 19 staying - 2 ended not coming because there was nowhere for them to stay. We asked the host, Tom, if all cottages were remodeled. He replied with yes, all remodeled with TV's and bathrooms. When we arrived, 2 cottages were completely gutted - not livable. The other 2 cottages were semi complete. No running water or heat (temperatures were in the single digits). Tom had his property manager, Louie, put 2 space heaters in the cottages. The ones staying in the cottages ended up having to buy buckets to use the bathroom at night. Main house had broken windows, some doors that would not close, mouse droppings throughout the house, including couches, closets, cabinets, and drawers. Food debris was also in all the drawers. Some dishes that were put away were dirty with food stuck on them.When we first arrived, we contacted Tom and he told us he would make good and give us a fair refund, which we still haven't received yet. He then did not answer our calls or texts and then charged us a property damage fee. We are working with Vrbo to file a complaint and to try to get a reasonable refund. We have also sent pictures and messages of everything stated. Also, when Louie, the property manager, came to put the space heaters in the 2 semi completed cottages, he said that Tom does this all the time. He tells people these cottages are compete when they clearly are not.

Thanksgiving gathering

Our family enjoyed this home for our holiday get together. Enough bedrooms for our large group, and plenty of space for our dining and game time. The owner was very responsive to any of our questions. Would definitely stay here again.

Amazing family vacation

We had a great time and will definitely option for a return stay. The house fit our group of 23 comfortably. We enjoyed family dinners on the large picnic table and a nightly bonfire. Our kids ranging in age from 3 to 21 enjoyed boating, kayaking, paddle boarding, fishing, swimming, biking, and many other things that the house and area had to offer. The cottages were just great.  It gave us just enough privacy when needed. Everything was very clean and setup nicely. Everyone enjoyed the boat ride to the beach and around Mystic.  It was so enjoyable and relaxing. Louie and Tom were very responsive and took great care of us during the week. I highly recommend this setup.

Unforgettable Waterfront Retreat: Perfect for Large Groups!

We just rented this beautiful waterfront compound with a main house and four small cottages, and it was fantastic. With kayaks and SUPs available, our group of 16 had a blast on the water. The kids enjoyed fishing off the dock and caught bluefish and small striped bass, thanks to the fishing gear provided by Louie, the helpful manager who also supplied firewood for our fire pit. The main house was well-equipped, with a modern kitchen and comfortable furniture. The A/C kept everything cool. The cottages were quaint, recently updated, and perfect for our needs. The larger cottage had a kitchenette where we made coffee, and the kids loved visiting each other. Evenings on the oversized deck and patio were so relaxing. We made s'mores around the fire pit, with plenty of room for all 24 of us to gather and then retreat to our own spaces. We stayed at one of the owner’s other properties last year, but this one is even nicer. The grounds are stunning, with over 10 acres for the kids to play. The shed near the dock made accessing the water effortless. The highlight was the boat ride to the beach, which took about eight minutes. Captain Stevie was great, dropping us off and picking us up later. The beach was beautiful, but be aware there are no facilities. Highly recommend this compound for larger groups. We’ll definitely rent again next July!

Misleading, Disappointing, and Not as Advertised Misleading, Disappointing, Not as Advertised

We rented this property expecting a beautiful, peaceful waterfront experience for our family visiting for a family wedding. The home was nothing like the description on VRBO, and it was a clear bait-and-switch situation. Here are just a few of the significant issues: "Newly Renovated" The house was far from new or renovated. It looked worn down and poorly maintained. There was peeling paint, mold, broken windows and a musty smell throughout. Any claims of it being “newly renovated” are blatantly false. Waterfront Access? Yes, the house is technically on the water, but the so-called "access to the dock" was a joke. Guest Cottages? The "two small recently completed guest cottages" were barely habitable. Needless to say, we did not stay on the premises. We all immediately packed our cars and moved to a hotel. We have filed a complaint with VRBO and will be taking action to get our money back.

The house was very nice and family very happy there. The boats and pond also very nice. The owner should have noted that the house was on a major highway and the driveway was public since the house is on the marina property. The cabin was totally not ready for people despite the owner saying it was. Couldn’t plug in microwave no shelves and a toxic smell coming from the open construction site of the other cabins. We communicated with owner who acknowledged And offered a free boat ride but We wouldn’t return.

Peaceful Getaway

We wanted to visit with Family, and this house was the perfect spot. It’s a perfect common area, between the kitchen and the dining room with seating for 10. The deck and fire pit area were a favorite too. We barbecued on the clean grill, and had a wonderful time with family. Our guests raved about the property and wished we could’ve stayed longer. The use of the canoes and fishing supplies were definitely a big hit. Louie and Steve were amazing and very attentive to our needs. We had no issues, and looking forward to a future visit.

NO RUNNING WATER, PROMISED REFUND NOT ISSUED

Tom Lockwood offered a full refund since the property we booked January 24-26, 2024 did not have running water when we arrived and we could not reach anyone to resolve the issue. It is now July and I have had no success in speaking with Mr. Lockwood, the owner, or his GM, Mike. They don/t return calls and we have not been reimbursed. My husband and I rented this house for our 7 adult children, their partners and our 2 teens. The place was clean and provided us the space our large party of 14 needed for eating. sleeping and hanging out. Unfortunately there was NO RUNNING WATER. While my husband and son-in-law tried to resolve the issue, I left voice messages with the owner and the GM. Our family was driving in from Boston, Worcester, Long Island and Washington, DC for my father's wake and funeral. I texted with Tom Lockwood and spoke with him after we finally made other arrangements. Mr. Lockwood was apologetic on the lack of water issue and sympathetic for my father's death. Mr. Lockwood agreed to refund us completely. Mr. Lockwood offered us the FREE use of the house if we wanted space to congregate after the funeral since we were now in several hotel rooms. Although we didn't take him up on that offer, I thought it was kind and that he was a real stand-up guy. I am deeply disappointed that this hasn't been resolved.

Amazing place to stay

We had a large group of girls stay here for a weekend. There was a ton of parking, plenty of beds, lots of seating inside and outside. The house was very nice and clean. It is a great location close to Mystic and close to the Saltwater Farms Vineyard which was also a great place to go. Unfortunately it rained a bit while we were there so we weren’t able to take the pontoon. Once we got to the property though they were super great about scheduling the time we wanted for the pontoon and following up on what we wanted to do when the weather wasn’t great.

Enjoyed the large bedrooms and big beds

Girls trip! 6 ladies enjoyed the stay. Being new to traveling together we really appreciated the 6 bedrooms and was the main reason we picked this location. We loved taking the boat ride to the island. Our “tour guide” couldn’t have been any nicer or more helpful. We enjoyed the large dining table where we could gather. The town was super quaint. What we would have liked to see is some basic staples in the house. It lacked simple things like a pen and paper, a welcome book with some basic knowledge of the house and town, deck of cards, minor toiletries, coffee filters, salt and pepper, sugar for coffee, some newer pans to cook with. I just think having some small touches would go a long way. The description had some discrepancies and the floors were very wavy and uneven. Other than those suggestions, we were happy with our stay and would recommend.

Awesome place for a private gathering!

Rented this house for a family reunion party and had an excellent stay here. So nice being able to fit everyone with all the beds they had as well as enough sitting room. It was a beautiful property, all fully renovated, and right on the water with amazing views. We also were surprised how private and quiet it was there. Everything went very smoothly from check-in onward. When we needed some additional fire wood the owner had someone bring it over immediately which was perfect. The owners were lovely and we would definitely stay here again!

Stonington stay, enjoyed Mystic

We enjoyed the house in Stonington, which has clearly been renovated recently. The description that is posted for the inside of the house is accurate. The location is quite close to Mystic where there is a lot to do and our extended family enjoyed exploring the area. We did encounter two issues during our stay. First, we had an air conditioning issue and contacted the manager at 8 pm asking for assistance, and did not receive a response until the next day. Once the issue was addressed, the AC worked great. Second, we were not aware until we arrived that construction was being done on the property. Though the workers were not present during the weekend when we stayed at the home, we did see evidence of the construction and materials were left onsite (ie, wood scraps with nails in the fire pit). After voicing our concerns, the owner was very responsive and granted us a partial refund. Excepting for the above issues, our stay was lovely.

Good Value

House was clean and the bedrooms are nice sized. Tom is very helpful with communication and very nice. Good spot for large families. Close to Mystic.

Perfect way to ring in the New Year!

Beautiful home with view of the water. Plenty of space to enjoy time together with friends. Very clean with numerous amenities, great kitchen, and bedrooms. We enjoyed the deck and patio. Highly recommend.

Perfect house for a family celebration!

Great property for our family celebration! Plenty of room for all 12 to gather, eat and sleep comfortably. We used the paddle boards and kayaks and had plenty of space for the kids to fly kites, play soccer and enjoy s’mores by the fire pit. Great fun fishing for stripers at night with the help of the property manager too! Location was perfect for our trips into Mystic to the Aquarium and Seaport Museum and planetarium, as well as the Oyster Club Cafe, Zest pastries and Nana's Bakery and Pizza ! Even Niantic was just 20 minutes away and made for great fun attending the Niantic Bay Oyster Festival! Tom was great to work with and we were overjoyed to find this house on the water to bring together our families from Maine, NH and Long Island!
