Shower was dirty, chair in our room had something that looked like vomit dried on it, common area was hot and smelled awful, kids were running around unsupervised even though the hotel rules said they must be supervised and in their rooms after 10pm. Housekeeping knocked on the door very early to see if we were checking out. Many rooms are still being remodeled, but they should make sure the other rooms are being cleaned properly!

Do NOT waste your money. Had a refund been an option we would have definitely stayed elsewhere. It literally took 1 minute, while we were waiting on the front desk person to get to us, for another guest to tell us to make sure we check the bed & room for roaches & then showed us a picture she had just taken of the roaches coming out of the walls. I felt safer & cleaner sleeping the our vehicle. The main elevator was broken. There was a used Q-tip on the bathroom floor, and my sandals stuck to the bathroom floor, there was what looked like dried feces on the bathroom wall, yellow stained pillows on the bed, no fitted sheet on the mattress that clearly needed to be in the dumpster, a stick from a sucker was literally stuck to the floor by the TV along with a cigarette butt. There were no batteries in the TV remote, Front Desk would not bring any batteries so we made 2 trips to the front desk & still no working remote. It was so hot in the hotel because the pool is located in the middle of the entire hotel. I do not know how this place has a permit to operate a business. Everything about this place screams Health Hazard. I know the response from this business will be the same robotic answer "We're sorry you were not pleased with your stay, we will work on improving...." Blah Blah Blah. AND the pictures on the hotels web site are clearly false advertisement, rooms look nothing like the pictures nor does the pool area.

I am dumbfounded as to how this hotel received an occupancy permit from the city. From the outside the place looks abandoned, next to the front entrance is a crumpled concrete porch and entrance to what was once a nice restaurant. It was creepy looking. I already had a reservation so I went inside and I was extremely disappointed by the appearance of the checkin area. The owners did nothing to make this hotel appealing. My wife and I drove several hours to get to St Louis, so I checked in and the clerk gave me a room key. The room was on the second floor (my wife is disabled and it’s very difficult for her to climb stairs) I asked for the whereabouts of the elevator, “it’s out of order” The clerk did tell me that it would be easier for me to drive to another entrance, the door is open, my wife wouldn’t have to walk so much. When we got to the door, with our luggage, we discovered the door was locked. I called from my cell and the clerk walked to us and opened the door. Then when we got to our room, it was appalling. The bathroom was disgusting, the bathtub was repulsive, the towel rack was covered with rust, no lamp shades on the lamps. No Way I’m paying for this, I went to the front desk to report the problem and the clerk happily moved me to another room. Not much better, another towel rack covered with rust. No blanket on the bed, and the mattress was a brick. No amenities in the bathroom, soap, shampoo, drinking cup and no phone. Will not use again.

Dump

Pros: The staff was nice and helpful, the sheets were clean and it was pretty cheap.
Cons: Too much to list.
Let me start out by saying the staff was nice and helpful for what they had to work with. 1. The elevators didn't work (my mother is in a wheel chair. The staff relocated us to a room on the 1st floor). 2. There aren't any windows to the outside. The windows look out to an enclosed courtyard. the concept may have been good on paper but the result was depressing. Also, all the AC unit exhaust blows out into the courtyard. You think it was hot outside? The courtyard is hotter. 3. The courtyard does have a pool so maybe it's nice to have all that heat in there but the water in the pool was a cloudy yellow so it's better to stay in your air conditioned room. 4. The place is falling apart. The security card locks to the outside doors don't work but don't worry, you're not locked out, you can pull on the piece of metal hanging on the door to get in. Exposed drywall screws holding pieces of plaster in place in out bathroom. Formica peeling up. You're in for a treat if you use the bathroom in the lobby. 5. The place is filthy. I especially like the greasy carpeting and the dirt buildup on the doors from years of peoples hands pushing the doors open because there isn't a handle or plate to push.

Lesson Learned.

Pros: Bed was decently comfortable, and shower pressure wasn't terrible.
Cons: Eaiser to tell you what DOESN'T need to be improved!!
Location: There is a couple resturuants nearby, an Olive Garden, Bob Evans, and some sports cafe. There's a steak 'n shake about 10 minutes away along w/ more.
Based on the pictures, when I booked this hotel I figured it would be at least a decent hotel, especially with the pool. Boy, was I wrong! Upon arriving, the outside looked a little run down which I barely blinked an eye at because the outside of the hotel doesn't base your stay. While entering and getting checked in, there was a security guard outside, smoking a cigarette. We head up to the room to find stained carpet in the hallway, and just messy. There's a cat, yes a cat, running around loose around the hotel. With food and water sat out by the pool, I have a picture of that attached. As far as the room goes, it was slightly terrifying. The stains on the carpet merely looked like the pattern, there was no TV remote, the phone wasn't even from our hotel. It had a different hotel name on it. The shower had hair on the stuck to the sides and there was no trash can. Besides all these negatives, the bed was pretty comfortable and the shower pressure was decent. The towels barely covered my body though, hahahaha. Later saw the security guard smoking by the pool as well. The side entrance was open, no door. So anyone could enter or exit as they please. The pool is only open from 6pm-10pm which was very inconvenient and forget a hot tub, call it a room-temperature tub if you will. My cold showers are hotter than that. The wifi didn't work either.

Disappointing

Pros: It was cheap
Cons: Paint and clean
My first was very dirty and the lights over the sink didn't work. They moved me to other room and it didn't have a coffee maker or a ironing board and the floors needed to be vacuumed. Old TV's and not all the stations came in clear. The indoor pool was open but the space it was in was so cold that it wasn't enjoyable. The whole place needed to be painted and cleaned. Even the elevator had what looked like bodily fluids on the walls and door.
