Beautiful property, location was near the beach ( short walk), yet seemed private and just far enough away there was no disturbance. We had a 3 generation family vacation and it perfectly meet our needs for space and relaxation.

On the Sound

This is a lovely older home with a lot of space and worked very nicely for our yearly family get together with 3 generations represented. The fishermen among us liked it a lot and the beachgoers would rather be closer to the beach.

Perfect set up for our family gathering

The property was beautiful. The dining room and kitchen worked well for all our big family meals. The living area was a perfect gathering spot. We took multiple family beach walks and enjoyed the beautiful pier and inlet setting. Outdoor spaces were great and the weather was nice enough that we were able to use them. We were surprised that the 2 basement bedrooms were only accessed through the garage. We had teen agers so it worked fine but would not work for younger kids.

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was our second year at this home. The living room furniture was updated and definitely a plus. Issues with the A/C upon arrival were promptly addressed by owner by next morning. Overall clean and comfortable home. The yard mowing/landscaping and spraying was a bit concerning/disturbing (especially with 5 children as guests).. otherwise...nice home and great week!

Fabulous property in need of a refresh

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is a fabulous property with a killer view of the water and a great floor plan for multiple families. The ground floor bedrooms are not connected at all, so great for adults, not so much for families with kids. Also, no climate control on this floor that we could find. We had issues with maintenance, which was performed by a family member, which was awkward when multiple calls were required to address an issue (no hot water, no shower head,caretaker’s personal laundry in the dryer.Dishes had been washed and left to dry on the counter. One bed not made up and towels not distributed to bathrooms. The hot water issue was never really resolved, so a 3-minute hot shower would then turn cold, and showers had to be spaced out. The house was dusty in places and could use a deep clean. Bedclothes could stand to be replaced. All in all, my review total says it all. The property is not living up to its potential.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Highly recommend this house. Very spacious, the sound view and dock are amazing. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you could need for cooking and baking and there are plenty of plates and glasses. My group of ten adults and two very young children was very comfortable and we never felt cramped. The beach is an easy walk but it is also nice to use the gate pass and park right across the road. Check in was very easy, owner answered my one question right away when I called. If you have never tried the sound side of the island I would recommend this house as the place to do it.

Each area was well supplied with sheets and towels, including the kitchen. Of course the view is fantastic and having the dock available for fishing and swimming is great.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall it was a lovely stay. Very roomy. Great location! My boys spent most of their time out on the pier behind the house fishing! They caught lots of baby sharks and crabs! The biggest “surprise” was the separation of the quarters in the basement/garage area. The pictures lead you to believe that they are attached as one area when in fact they are 2 completely different rooms, so kids were separated from their parents. (They are too young) But it is a clever set up! Maybe if there were just 2 queens and a pullout sofa instead of the bunk beds then the parents and kids could all be in 1 room, leaving the other one for another adult couple.The washer did not work at all. It has a self dispensing soap feature that would not work unless there was soap in it. We did not have alot of soap to add. We just do load by load. So I turned the feature off and added soap manually but the washing cycle barely agitated and did not spin the clothes out. I ended up wringing out every piece of clothing by hand before putting them in the dryer. The dryer took twice as long to dry them, and I never overload. The kitchen is terribly organized. Everything is everywhere. Dish washer did not clean dishes completely even after rinsing prior to starting. The other concern was the one bunk bed on the main floor broke during the night while my kids slept. The wooded frame literally split. There is black mold around the phone jack cover in the master bathroom.Also, a rule about the community pool not allowing any potty training children in the pool???? We have 2 infants not even 1 that wore swimmers and they swam almost everyday. That is a terrible rule and should be made aware prior to booking.Do feel that it needs a full make over over all.The cleaning crew were not out of the house until past check in and had not completed cleaning bathrooms. We use VRBO and airbnb only and we are used to more of a personal touch and for the cost of thi

Spectacular home

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This year was our 20th year coming to Topsail. This house was by far the best house we've ever rented. It was spacious and the layout was perfect for our needs. The huge yard is not a given with beach houses. The outside areas to sit and enjoy the beautiful view were amazing. The highlight was the dock. What a blast it was to fish and catch crabs. There was an issue with our garbage not getting picked up and Landmark did not really jump in to help with this. The house is dated, but it is clean and functional. This was the best stocked kitchen we've ever had. We met the owners and they were delightful. The community pool was nasty toward the end of the week. The walk to the beach was doable and the option to park there was great.

Annual "Family" Trip

Reviewer Comments: We came to CopperTop for 2 reasons; 1 - to visit a very dear friend that lives nearby and 2 - it is our annual "family" trip to rest and ride (we brought our motorcycles.) Having use of the garages was perfect for the motorcycles (thank you) and plenty of driveway space for 4 full size trucks. The house is lovely though a bit dated. Watching the boats on the intercoastal was fun and a easy walk to the beach. Kitchen is well stocked with equipment. Property is clean but there were stains on some pillow cases - not a big issue as we bring our own. No screens so we couldn't keep sliders open for a breeze. You have to rent a grill. Overall, we would definitely come back!

Met the home owners and their son, they are very nice and hospitable. Copper Top has everything you will need, the kitchen has everything you will need. The only thing I would recommend to the owner is to upgrade the kitchen, bathrooms countertops to modernize the house. 9 out of 10.
