THE LIVING ROOM
From the moment you step inside, the tone is set. Sink into designer sofas surrounded by elegant finishes and let the flames of the indoor vapor firepit draw you in. Turn on the record player to set the mood. This is a space made for slow mornings with coffee in hand, golden-hour conversations, and nights that stretch on just a little longer than planned. Sophisticated, welcoming, and designed to impress — the living room is where your stay truly begins.
KITCHEN
A fully equipped kitchen that makes cooking feel like a pleasure, not a task. A full oven, microwave, seasoning set, air fryer, pots, pans, crock pot, serving bowls, baking sheets, and everything else your group needs to prepare anything from a lazy weekend breakfast to an impressive dinner spread. Beautiful, functional, and stocked with the essentials — because great meals are always part of a great trip. If we don’t already have what you need to prepare your favorite meals, let us know and we will get it delivered to you from Walmart. We also aim for a low-tox kitchen by providing wooden cooking utensils, glass Tupperware, wood cutting boards, and non teflon cookware.
COFFEE
Start your morning the way you like. Our coffee station has a 12 cup drip coffee maker, a French press, and Breville espresso machine, frother, and a manual espresso bean grinder. We provide regular and decaf coffee grounds, espresso grounds, liquid creamer, sugar, cinnamon sticks, and 4 coffee syrup flavors (hazelnut, caramel, vanilla, French vanilla.) We also have a tea kettle and a variety of tea flavors located in the cupboard above the microwave.
DINING AREA
Elegant and inviting, the dining area is designed for more than just meals — it's designed for moments. Pull up a chair, pour the wine, and settle in for long dinners, great stories, and the kind of shared table memories that last well beyond the trip itself.
BEDROOMS
Four stunning bedrooms, each one a sanctuary of its own. Thoughtfully designed with refined décor, premium linen linens, TVs and noise machines, one foam and one feather pillow for each guest, ample towel and coat hooks, luggage racks, room darkening shades, memory foam mattresses, phone charging stations - every room offers the perfect retreat after a day of indulgence. Families, couples, or groups of friends — everyone sleeps in style, wakes up rested, and does it all over again.
THEATRE
In the basement curl up under a blanket on the largest sofa we could find. Enjoy popcorn, snacks, and your favorite drink out of the mini fridge while watching classic movies on the 85” surround sound TV. Close the blackout curtains for a true theatre experience in the middle of the day.
THE OUTDOOR
This is where the magic happens — and where you'll spend most of your time. Your private outdoor sanctuary is nothing short of extraordinary. Begin with a rejuvenating session in the sauna, if you’re brave take a dip in the cold plunge, then ease into the bubbling hot tub as breathtaking waterfront views stretch out before you. Spend lazy afternoons on the sun loungers, soaking up the sun with the water as your backdrop. As the sky turns golden, gather around the firepit (we have a natural gas fire table on the top deck and a wood burning one on the bottom,) fire up the BBQ grill for an al fresco dinner under the stars, take an outdoor shower, fish off the end of the dock, and let the beauty of the waterfront carry the evening. This outdoor space isn't just an amenity — it's the reason you'll never want to leave, and the reason you'll always want to come back.
From May through October, elevate your stay even further with the option to rent a private pontoon — the perfect way to explore the water at your own pace, enjoy sunset cruises, or simply drift into complete relaxation. This is a ‘no wake’ lake, so pontoon rides are meant for slow cruises around the lake or swimming in the middle.
THE LOCATION
The lake house is in downtown Sheridan. Within two blocks you have a grocery store, yoga studio, tattoo parlor, ice cream shop, diner, saloon, bowling alley, and gas station. Greenville is 12 minutes away and has Walmart (which also delivers to the house if you desire,) Meijer, Morning Glory (our favorite coffee shop,) and the flat river trail which is arguably the nicest walking trail in Michigan. It’s all paved and winds around marshes, lakes, parks, and a gorgeous disc golf course.
THE KIDS
The Black Pearl has a baby bath, pack and play, high chair, plasticware, baby gates on the stairs, kids toys stored in the living room coffee table, a variety of kids life jackets for the pontoon, a sandy beach with beach toys for sunny afternoons on the lake, noise machines , and room darkening curtains in all bedrooms.
PARKING
The driveway is flat and has room for 6 vehicles plus an additional 2 stall garage.
Guests have access to the full property and all listed amenities, including the entire home, waterfront, dock, hot tub, sauna, cold plunge, theatre room, outdoor spaces, and parking areas. There are no shared spaces — you’ll have complete private access throughout your stay. Kayaks are included for guest use, and a private pontoon experience may be available as a separate add-on, subject to availability.
PETS
We allow up to 3 dogs for $90 per pet per stay.
At the moment of booking, if you add you bring pets, VRBO will add the first charge to the booking total, and we will request any additional ones.
If you want to bring more than 3 dogs, please send us an inquiry, and we will approve on a case-to-case basis.
Per Michigan law, your pet must be on a leash and supervised while outside. Our neighbors are close and also have dogs so please be respectful of this rule. We provide dog poop bags mounted on a post in a black container both on the front and back of the house.
PONTOON
To use the Pontoon, you'll be required to sign a rental contract and a waiver of liability. There is an additional charge for the pontoon and it’s out of the water during the cold months (October-May). This is a NO wake lake, meaning boat rides are meant to be enjoyed slower and more peacefully.
