THE PROPERTY
Master Bedroom (Main Level): King Bed with Ensuite Bathroom
Upstairs Loft: Futon

Grin and Bear It, so cast your cares aside and dip your toes into this island inspired treasure that has washed up on the gentle hills of the Smoky Mountain Ridge Resort, which is situated south on 321. You can easily access the attractions, shops, and restaurants in Pigeon Forge or Wears Valley, and of course the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

Turn right out of the resort to go to Pigeon Forge and stroll around the island visiting the quaint shops and stay for a romantic dinner or take the kids and head over to Dollywood and Splash Country. Or turn left and go to Wears Valley where you will find zip lines, roller coasters, horseback riding, and fantastic views of Cove Mountain. In addition, Cade’s Cove and the Metcalf Bottoms Park Entrance are both accessible from Wears Valley.

When you are ready to escape to the serenity of Grin and Bear It you will find a welcoming wrap around porch with cushioned rockers where you can relax with Margaritas and watch the sun set. Or step around to the side porch and grill some local trout to enjoy on the patio set before submerging yourself in the beckoning warm waters of the hot tub where you can let your cares drift away.

When you enter Grin and Bear It with its tropically inspired interior, you will find an open main floor with a fully equipped kitchen that has its own Jimmy Buffett Margaritaville Margarita maker. The living room and king suite are separated by a gas peek-a-boo fireplace. So snuggle up from either side and enjoy the romance of gazing into a cozy fire.

The king suite has a Jacuzzi tub for those evenings when a warm bath and a glass of chilled wine are the perfect close to an incredible day. Don’t worry no one will disturb your bath, there is a separate bathroom with shower. And if you brought the kids, there is a full-size futon upstairs (linens are provided), check the king suite closet for extra pillows.

Staying in for the day? Great! Take advantage of the flat screen TV with 200+ channels, play a movie in the DVD player, or go to the upstairs loft and play a game of pool, Pacman, or have a little fun and play some penny ante poker.

Lastly, we know that just because you want to get away, doesn’t mean you want to be completely off the grid (or maybe it does), but for those who want to stay somewhat connected Grin and Bear It does have Wi-Fi! So, if you are celebrating a honeymoon, anniversary, or if you just want to escape with your family, please feel welcome in our little piece of paradise.

They stated in their description that you could go play pool upstairs, there was no pool table. The TV in the bedroom was hooked up with a super and it was very slow to respond to the remote. My husband watches you tube and it took a very long time to actually play a video and would pause and stop during the videos. We don't watch the same programs so he was livid. I let him switch with me the last night and I got so angry we left at 1:30 in the morning instead of waiting until 10:00.

53RD ANNIVERSARY IN PIGEON FORGE

THE CABIN WAS EVERYTHING IT WAS REPRESENTED TO BE. THE AREA IS CLEAN AND PEACEFUL. (But the cleaning crew missed dog bones and plastic bottle underneath the couch). We have Everything that we could possible need to make our stay totally enjoyable. We're planning to make another trip back there in a few years. We would like to be in a similar cabin only on a stream, if you have them.

Thanks for a great stay

We very much enjoyed our stay. Lovely cabin. The location was good for access to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, as well as Cherokee, NC. My only criticisms are that numbers on the cabin were not clear at dusk and later. Also, pool table access was limited by room size. Otherwise, it was a perfect getaway.

Great Location

My husband and I stayed at this adorable little cabin for a few nights to celebrate his 50th birthday. It was perfect for the two of us and our little fur baby. The location is perfect for those who love Pigeon Forge but also like the seclusion of a cabin. We enjoyed everything PG has to offer as well as the beautiful, quiet town of Townsend. On our last night as my husband was taking our dog out he saw two bear crossing the road, so that was exciting. We both absolutely loved this cabin and will book again in the future!

Will not stay here again

Our choice to not stay here again has nothing to do with the staff, they were all very nice. Our cabin itself we were very unsatisfied. we were uncomfortable the whole time we even left early would have left 2 days early but we had a show scheduled already. We did leave a night early. The bed was so hard and cheap made. We were afraid to turn over that the bed may fall. My husband likes to watch tv in bed we couldn't even get it to turn on .The show was so small and cramped. NO WATER PRESSURE AT ALL. Impossible to get the soap off. On the Thursday of our stay we heard gunshots. We live in the country and are used to that, but no in a place like we were in. We definately will not ever stay there again in that cabin.

Weekend Escape

This property was just perfect our short getaway. The cabin size was more than enough space for two people and sets close to our hiking, dinner and other exploration destinations. The rental staff called prior to check-in and was very accessible, if needed. However, no follow up was needed, Accomendations were as posted. Enjoy!

It was okay..

The cabin is definitely cute however it’s not so cozy. It’s smaller in size than you’d think from the photos. The cleanliness of the cabin while we were there is definitely what draws me to give it only a 3 star rating. The floors and bathroom definitely needed some TLC. Pots and pans needed to be scrubbed before use. There wasn’t room to hang our clothes as the closets were utilized for storage. I’d recommend this for a 1-2 night stay maximum, otherwise it gets cramped.

Worst Experience

Worst customer service experience I’ve ever experienced. The property manager Debi took advantage of us in the most vulnerable emergency. The doorknob was broken; you had to wiggle it to get it unlocked. We went out to use the hot tub, and the broken doorknob unknowingly locked behind us and we were locked out for the next 3 hours. When we called Debi, her first response was, “I don’t know what you want me to do about it.” We suggested calling a cleaning lady or anyone who would have a key, but she told us we’d have to call locksmiths (at 9:30 PM the night before Thanksgiving.) Of course no one was responding, and we were forced to call 911. Debi was so sweet to the deputy, after she’d been so dismissive towards us. Around 12:30 AM, Debi called the deputy and told him the cleaning lady would be coming. She told him there would be a $300 charge for this, but he did not have the authority to accept a charge on my behalf. This is bad business, a charge that was caused by a lack of upkeep at the cabin, not my fault. When I told Debi about the problem with the door knob, her response was: “That doesn’t mean it’s broken.” However, a functional doorknob would not have caused this crisis. The door should not have locked behind us. Major need of modernization. Besides the broken doorknob that caused our emergency, the barn door in the bathroom fell off the track onto my sister at one point. This cabin is not worth the money.

Fun with Grandkids

Cabin was perfect for my wife and I and 2 grandkids of Junior High age. The loft provided space for grandkids and kept them entertained with pool table and pac man. Kitchen and living room was accommodating and had everything we needed. Location was great with only a short drive then you are at the center point of the main attractions, Dolly Wood, the Island, outlet mall. Also made easier to get to Cades Cove being close to access via Townsend.
