get sleep some where else

Pros: the location was great and well maintained
Cons: invest in better beds and bath robes
Location: Tulio was close by ...excellent dinner
staff was friendly and room was clean I had booked a king ended up with two full size no big deal by myself for one night beds as hard as a rock for the cost and being bumped to a lesser room was a very disappointing after a long trip to get there

Decent Bargain

This makes the 3rd time I have stayed at the Renaissance and to be honest each time it has been because of the price. In that regard I would say it's a bargain. On the plus side as well is there is a restaurant in house that serves a variety of dishes. As far as the room itself it is comfortable but not an "off the charts" experience. This most recent stay found me in a room without coffee supplies (cups, coffee, etc) The bed was very comfortable with nice linens and plenty of pillows. Heat and A/C worked very quickly. Two issues in the bathroom were a toilet seat that had to be held up for "gentlemanly" use and the surround for the shower controls was coming off from the wall. Didn't effect me using either but just gives an indication to details that weren't attended to. Overall impression is positive but if you're a stickler for details like I mentioned I would perhaps look elsewhere.

$40 parking, small rooms

I recently stayed at the Renaissance and it was not a 4-star hotel experience. At best 3.5 stars and that is pushing it for what I would expect in a major metropolitan area at this price point. $40 to park (that's not even for valet!) which is atrocious. We were locked out of our hotel room because the latch somehow closed behind us and the staff was rude and accusing when they came to fix it as if this was somehow our fault.. At least they comped parking for one of the cars in our party. The rooms are small and overall average. Was told that a room booked for 4 people would "maybe" get two beds instead of one despite the booking under 4 people. Overall a very average and disappointing experience for a four star hotel costing upwards of $300 a night. Will not recommend or return. One perk I will mention is breakfast. The restaurant staff were very friendly and the food was phenomenal. So... at least there is breakfast for you too look forward to (not included obviously)!
