The house was clean and equipped with everything we needed. The check-in/check-out was very easy. The owner, Mary, was very quick and responsive to questions. The community is gated and secluded which was wonderful! My only criticisms are that the outside deck/seating was dirty from a lot of bird droppings and the windows could use different window coverings. The blinds were not very private in the evenings, and the downstairs bedroom only had a thin curtain. Other than that, we really enjoyed our stay and will definitely book this property again!

My sister and I came in from Houston area to visit our Mom who lives in Winnsboro. We stayed here for the weekend and it couldn’t have been cuter! Beautiful views of the lake and quiet, quaint surroundings in the trees. The home has everything you need and is a comfortable stay. Mary was excellent as communication. Easy check in and check out. Will definitely come back to stay.

Once found, it was a nice cabin, It was hard to determine the location arriving late. It was assumed that it was waterfront. The cabin was clean and comfortable.

The accommodations were really nice. There was a couple of things that I would improve. The kitchen sink was dirty and there were dirty dishes in the dishwasher. I had to hunt down a hand towel for the master bathroom. That’s really all that I would suggest as needing attention. The grandkids really loved the loft bedrooms! It was very pleasant stay!

Sublime Woodland Retreat

We stayed for four nights with three of our adult children. This place just seems to hit the "unwind" button on one's body and mind. This home has the most beautiful view of the lake, and the woods are so peaceful. It's also great to be able to just walk down to the lake. Mary is a very gracious hostess. Wish we had our own watercraft to bring, because there are no nearby rentals.

Overall cute place but didn’t realize it wasn’t water front! Heat was an issue and had to go buy extra fans to cool the place down. Also we didn’t have hot water in the master sink but otherwise was perfect for weekend get away!

Pros - the house is in a very small and quiet neighborhood mixed with full time residents and a number of short term rentals - some of which are newly renovated. There are great views of the lake through the large windows. The dock is convenient, and the lake is great. The photos are mostly accurate depictions of what we encountered. The pizza place near the house was very tasty. Cons - like several others have said - the house is in desperate need of attention and renovations. There were cobwebs inside the house especially around the windows and in the kitchen. These cobwebs have been there for months - not a few days. And like other reviews - the deck and outside furniture didn’t appear to have been cleaned in several months. The sofa and beds aren’t very comfortable and there is only one TV in the house. The AC did not cool very well during the day but worked well enough at night for us to sleep. The house is properly advertised as lake view (not front), but the pictures lead us to believe that it was very close to the lake. It’s a hike - over 200 yards from the front door to the dock. The worst part is the house has an overwhelming mildew odor that permeated into everything. We assumed that the house had been unused for a while and that the smell would go away after running the AC for a few hours or a day - we were sadly mistaken.
