This was our first time at a GLO best Western, described as A boldly expressive design and a fresh take on hospitality among the timeless brands. If our day is typical aspirational may be a better term. There is a lot to improve, but let’s start with what worked: our check-in and our departure. Staff are well trained and visible. What didn’t work? From our room we could hear the sorority party three rooms away at 1:30 in the morning.There’s no soundproofing. The shower was more like a sprinkle. You could stand under it all day and not get wet the hook to hang your clothes in the bathroom was located beside the toilet behind the shower door when it’s open. Why didn’t they use the bare wall opposite the sink? Well, at least there was a hook? The tiny refrigerator, which might hold a six pack was on the floor to see if it was working. You had to lie down on the floor get your hand in there and turn the knob. Really? When you open the bathroom door, it closes the closet. You can’t have both and play at once and the bathroom door perhaps because somebody tried to yank it rather than slide it, meant my 112 pound bride had to leave it open— which meant she couldn’t use the closet. And why isn’t there a way to keep the front door open when you’re moving in your stuff?Other hotels have solved this problem. The toilet paper was the worst I’ve encountered in about 10 different hotel brands. Breakfast had shortcomings: no yogurt and the waffle maker wasn’t secured — injury or burns?
